Fabricator
The Fabricator is responsible for the precision assembly, preparation, and layout of hygienic process piping, D1.1 Structural steel and equipment used in regulated environments such as food, pharmaceutical, and other life sciences sectors. Working from technical drawings, isometric diagrams, and project specifications, the Fabricator ensures that all components meet stringent quality, safety, and cleanliness standards, including compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), ASME BPE guidelines, and internal quality systems. Position Functions:
Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and schematics to measure, cut, thread, groove, and weld pipes to exact specifications
Responsible for tools, components, and work area cleanliness
Document work progress and complete required paperwork, including material usage and inspection reports
Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisor
Operate power tools, pipe cutters, threading machines and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently
Assist in the packaging of raw materials for fabrication work packages of sanitary piping and stainless steel structural shapes utilizing SOP and client specifications
Assemble stainless steel piping systems and sanitary fittings using isometric drawings
Prioritize fabrication tasks based on the production schedule and supervisor guidance
Comply with safety, environmental, and contamination control procedures
Use PPE appropriate to cleanroom or controlled environments
Properly segregate and dispose of waste according to life sciences protocols
Inform supervisor of deviations, incidents, or equipment malfunctions
Follow Boccard Management System (BMS) guidelines, health and safety procedures, and quality system policies
Requirements:
High School Diploma required. Technical or vocational training in welding or mechanical assembly preferred.
Experience:

Performing minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces
Setting up and performing maintenance on fab and machine shop machines and performing burning work
Operating any equipment needed to perform job including overhead cranes & forklifts.
Must be efficient and productive with time
Must maintain an acceptable attendance and safety record
Maintain safe environment.
Performing other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
2 years related experience and/or training
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to read and interpret metal rule
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
Must be able to understand implicit and explicit instructions and react favorably in all work situations
Must be able to work well in a team environment
Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflicts, and make effective decisions under pressure
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and background checks.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. In order to avoid injury, welders must have both mental and physical dexterity. It is vital that they have spatial awareness and a strong attention to small details. Continuous, and at times, concentrated mental and visual attention where the work is repetitive or duties are diversified and require continuous alertness and/or activity. Requires correctable vision and ability to adjust focus within normal range in order to perform clean and uniform welds and read blueprints. This job position regularly requires lifting, stooping, bending and stretching and use of arms and hands to accomplish grinding, welding and other assigned duties. Requires ability to work at different heights. Requires standing, bending and stooping for extended periods of time. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and explosives. The noise level in the work environment is very loud where ear protection is necessary.

Job Description
The Fitter/Welder will read blueprints and tend to fabricating machines to lay out, fit, expedite parts, and weld fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms such as machinery frames, tanks, pressure vessels, furnace shells, and building and bridge parts. Equipment used, but not limited to, welder, grinder, gouge, drills, punches, saws and other hand tools.

Read all weld symbols on a blueprint
Differentiate between channel, angle, flat bar, square tube, pipe etc.
