*Position Summary*
The Fabricator Level II is responsible for the fit-up, welding, and assembly of hulls, decks, bulkheads, transoms, superstructure components, and other structural elements of Raider Boats. This role requires the ability to read prints, verify measurements, manage heat and distortion, and complete work with minimal refit. Fabricator II employees also help support flow and occasionally assist in mentoring Fabricator I employees.
*Primary Responsibilities*
* Fabricate, fit, and weld 5052/5086 aluminum components according to drawings and build specifications
* Perform MIG welding (TIG where required) to marine structural standards
* Set up and verify jigs, fixtures, and datums; hold tolerances and control distortion
* Read and interpret blueprints, weld callouts, and bills of material
* Complete measurement checks during pre-fit, mid-process, and final stages
* Communicate with cutting, press brake, and outfitting departments to maintain build schedule
* Complete traveler steps and sign-offs for internal QC
* Maintain tools, weld machines, cables, and shop equipment
* Follow all safety requirements, crane/rigging procedures, and PPE standards
*Required Qualifications*
* 2-4+ years of aluminum fabrication experience (boat, trailer, aerospace, marine, off-road, industrial, etc.)
* Proficient in MIG welding on aluminum; able to pass Raider weld test
* Ability to read and follow blueprints and weld symbols

Phillips Tank & Structure (PTS) is no ordinary tank construction company. We specialize in the complex and fast-paced environment of tank repair on a nationwide scale. No two tanks are alike, so when they need repair, they often pose unique or complicated technical issues. Our experienced engineering staff are well-versed in API 650, API 653, AWWA D100, AWWA D103, API 12D, and other tank specifications.
We build and repair welded above-ground storage tanks (ASTs), bolted tanks, and related structures. We also inspect, install, and repair tank systems such as aluminum geodesic dome covers, aluminum internal floating roofs (IFRs), IFR mechanical shoe seals, liquid level gauges, fire protection systems, silo support structures, industrial storage tanks, and heating and insulation systems.

Day to Day Duties:
Performing arc and torch cutting and gouging.
Using generators, compressors, tuggers, blowers, grinders, and other power and air tools.
Welding plate with 7018, 7024 and 6010 stick (SMAW), flux core (FCAW), and submerged arc automatic machines (3 o'clock and “goat”/tractor).
Using come-alongs, hydraulic jacks, hoists, air bags, winches, and other lifting equipment.
Using tank shell buggies, tank scaffolding, tank ladders, and other specialty equipment.
Performing vacuum box tests, oil tests, dye penetrant tests, and other non-destructive quality examinations.
Using gas monitors, fresh air kits, respirators, emergency rescue kits, and other safety equipment.
Operating forklifts, man lifts, boom lifts, and other large lifting equipment.
Knowledge of crane operations (including rigging and signaling)
Reading detailed erection and fabrication drawings.
Planning the sequence and methods of fitting up, welding, repairing, and constructing tanks.
Completing job safety analysis, safety audits, site-specific training, and other safety training.
Follow directions and work professionally with other crew members.
Other duties as assigned.

Hiring Bonus: $1000 after successful completion of 120 days and an acceptable attendance record ABW is looking for intermediate and experienced aluminum and stainless steel TIG Fitter/Welders, who are motivated and take pride in producing quality fabricated parts and meeting or exceeding customer requirements and schedules.
Fitter/Welder candidates must be able to read and understand shop drawings. They will be required to fit and weld components in accordance with weld procedures accounting for weld shrinkage with minimal supervision. All fit-up and welds are inspected by in-house and/or customer CWI's. ABW administers in-house testing and certification. In addition to welder qualification testing, Fitter/Welders will be evaluated on their ability to read and understand drawings, tolerances, and welding procedures. ASME pressure vessel / tank manufacturing experience preferred, familiarity with nozzle schedules, weld maps, flux core and submerged arc experience is beneficial.
Pay rates are based on the number of welding processes and qualified positions that welders are certified for and dependent upon weld test results at time of interview.

Day shift: Work four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday, 6 am-4:30 pm. Overtime as required.
