In 2011, Wellfleet, still under the CHP name, was acquired by Berkshire Hathaway, Warren Buffett’s famed holding corporation.
Wellfleet also launched Wellfleet Workplace in 2019, a new division offering high-quality, customizable benefit solutions through a suite of voluntary products, including Accident, Critical Illness and Short-Term Disability Income insurance.
Wellfleet moved its offices to Tower Square in 2019, becoming an anchor tenant of the high-rise office building in downtown Springfield, Mass., and added the Wellfleet name and logo onto the tower.
The carrier companies have financial strength ratings of A++ (Superior) by A.M. Best (rating effective as of June 30, 2021; visit ambest.com for latest rating).
In 2021, Wellfleet launched Lighthouse, its cloud-based, integrated administration platform, creating for the Workplace division a streamlined, personalized, and digitally-connected user experience.
