    This position is located in Henderson, NV. This position is eligible for a $1,000 Sign on Bonus. Responsible for operation of high-speed machines used in the production. Acts as a group leader. Makes minor adjustments and verifies quality of own work. Under the direction of the production supervisor and operator, the Machine Operator is responsible for filling in for the Crew Leader in their absence and providing support and execution to ensure operation of the production line. Primary responsibilities include: Responsible for adhering to all safe work procedures and practices of safety, and proactively identifies safety issues. Communicates effectively, appropriately, and respectfully with each member of the organization. Emphasizes the values of trust, integrity, and respect during all communications within the organization. Perform all routine work on the assigned line in addition to Machine Operator tasks as assigned by Supervisor, filling in for Crew Leader when needed. Assists in providing effective solutions to difficult problems by using logic and problem solving skills. Develops critical thinking skills by looking beyond the obvious to contribute to finding the facts in support of defining the root cause of problems. Supports a Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset by participating in continuous improvement initiatives through communication and by engaging team. Exhibits strong individual responsibility towards the delivery of team metrics relating to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. Uses sound decision making skills in the execution of general production duties based on company documented processes and procedures, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices Shift/Hours: Shift Schedules vary. At times overtime is mandatory. These positions will generally be scheduled for 12-hour shifts. There may be times when the assigned main line may not be running and will require this position to work another line with a closely similar shift time. All lines require a degree of scheduling flexibility. Current shifts available are on Day and Night shift. IND123 Qualifications: Minimum of 18 years old required. High School diploma or equivalent (GED) strongly preferred. Minimum of 2 years solid and continuous work experience beyond an entry level role required. Examples include general production, construction, farm operations, food service and hospitality. Experience in food manufacturing experience preferred. Demonstrated stability in employment, limited unexplainable gaps in work history. Demonstrated ability to work well in a diverse team environment. Demonstrated ability to successfully communicate with others. Demonstrated basic computer skills. Demonstrated understanding of cause-and-effect and ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve. Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment and experience leading people preferred; must demonstrate capability of providing direction to others. Quality-minded, conscientious, and self-motivated. Ability to stand for entire 10-12 hour shift required. Repetitive motion of hands, fingers, shoulders, and arms required. Conducts and supports audits to include: performing Food Safety \ Quality \ GMP \ Allergen inspections and audits to ensure quality programs and documentation are consistently performed. Supports internal and external audits of the QMS and integrated quality systems. Interacts with State, Local and Third- Party Auditors when plant audits are scheduled. Provide Quality oversight of 3rd party programs. Oversight of Food Safety Corrective Actions, Returned Goods Process, GMPs, and Master Sanitation Schedule. In conjunction with Document Control, assures that only the most current and approved versions of these control documents (SOPs, specifications, data collections forms, etc.) are available. Inspects (and samples as needed) incoming ingredients, packaging components and processing aids according to established sampling plans and written procedures. Assures incoming items are properly labelled and shipments are intact. Oversees Positive Release Program and Corrective Action program for ingredients, packaging components, and processing aids. Works with Buyers and Supplier Quality to assure suppliers adhere to Wells specifications requirements and resolves issues arising from OOS ingredients/components. Assures only released items are transferred to plants for use. Point person for ingredient issuers with regard to SQF compliance. In addition to the responsibilities listed above, other duties may be assigned by your supervisor, as dictated by business necessity. Associates degree in Biology, Microbiology and/or Food Science degree or demonstrated experience with food or nutritional products manufacturing and/or quality programs required. Must have or obtain SQF Practitioner Certification within six months of entering the position. Additional certifications to be obtained required after hire (if not available): PCQI HACCP Internal Auditing Food Defense \ Intentional Adulteration Demonstrated experience in food or dairy product manufacturing or FDA/USDA regulated storage facility. Refrigerated/frozen transport familiarity. Demonstrated experience with FDA/USDA for warehousing product/item storage, handling and distribution. Strong understanding of Quality Assurance principles and auditing procedures, SQF requirements. Knowledge of Oracle operating systems in production and WMS environment a plus. Knowledgeable in the areas of safe work practices and GMPs. Previous experience with effective planning and scheduling and procedure writing. Skills - Demonstrated leadership skills (creating effective teams, driving change, managing accountability). Strong problem solving and decision-making skills. Good attention to detail and ability to prepare and give written and oral instructions. Multi-project/multi-tasking capability. Willing to work outside of the normal work schedule including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required for the position. Functions to be Expected in Overhead Powerline Construction Works safely while performing new construction, maintenance, or repair work of energized and de-energized overhead work. Properly inspects rubber goods and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Understands when to wear personal protective equipment. Strings overhead wire. Sets poles and anchors. Assists with installing transformers, lightening arrestors, cutouts, cross-arms, insulators, switches and switchgear. Assists in replacing fuses in transformers and clears faulted circuits and systems. Frequently works with energized high voltage systems requiring skill and care to protect the lives of themselves and others. Maintains company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order. Able to perform rigorous physical labor. Understands proper use of company radio. Understand basic rigging, hand lines, and lineman knot tying. Understand the proper use and maintenance of hand tools. Capable of receiving and following directions. Possess a basic knowledge of materials used in line work. Able to identify primary and secondary voltage on a circuit. Must be familiar with induced voltage. Capable of assisting with the installation and hook up of a single-phase transformer. Capable of performing basic bucket rescue/escape. Understands the basic concepts of equipment set up and grounding. Capable of working at heights and/or confined spaces. Understands minimum approach distance. Understands excavation and shoring requirements. Capable of checking voltage on transformers. Capable of installing and removing a service. Must be able to climb different types of structures (wood, steel, etc.) and possess the necessary tools to do so. Understands how and when to use Kellum grips. Able to identify different types of materials used in line work. Must be able to work outside, frequently in inclement weather. Does all other related work as required to complete the job.
