Under the direction of the production supervisor and operator, the Assistant Machine Operator is responsible for filling in for the Crew Leader in their absence and providing support and execution to ensure operation of the production line.
Primary responsibilities include:
Responsible for adhering to all safe work procedures and practices of safety, and proactively identifies safety issues.
Exhibits strong individual responsibility towards the delivery of team metrics relating to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
Uses sound decision making skills in the execution of general production duties based on company documented processes and procedures (SOPs, Standard Work, Etc.), adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Supports a Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset by participating in continuous improvement initiatives through communication and by engaging team.
Communicates effectively, appropriately, and respectfully with each member of the organization. Emphasizes the values of trust, integrity and respect during all communications within the organization.
Assists in providing effective solutions to difficult problems by using logic and problem-solving skills. Develops critical thinking skills by looking beyond the obvious to contribute to finding the facts in support of defining the root cause of problems.
Perform all routine work on the assigned line in addition to Assistant Machine Operator tasks as assigned by Supervisor, filling in for Crew Leader when needed.

Approximate day shift start times are between 2:50 AM - 7:50 AM with normal shift lengths of 10 -12 hours. Positions require frequent weekend work. Pay: Starting rate of $26.36 - $28.51/hr. Night shift will receive an additional $1.50/hr for night shift differential. Summary
The Machine Operator Level C is responsible for operating various types of machinery to produce parts within dimensional tolerances, using select feeds and speeds based on alloy type, to obtain the best cutting conditions, and producing the longest tool life.

Produce parts according to print requirements, and produce tooling, fixtures or other parts using various types of machinery.
Measure part dimensions using calipers, micrometers, or other types of measurement.
Maintain tools and equipment in good, clean working order to maximize tool life
Perform safety checks on every machine, keeping work area clean and orderly.
Other duties and projects as assigned by the Production Manager, or Plant Manager.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Demonstrate initiative by proactively addressing tasks and challenges without needing constant supervision, while consistently adhering to provided instructions and guidelines to ensure accuracy and efficiency in all duties.
Leverage advanced problem-solving and technical expertise to troubleshoot issues and optimize systems effectively.

Being a Team player as an OPIIIR means the employee is filling an Operator II roll on a specified Shift and specified Line by completing OPII duties, the OPIIIR will come into effect when equipment or process upsets occur. OPIIIR is the team's first line of support to resolve line issues.
Fully proficient at operating and troubleshooting all CER equipment (TKW, Wrappers, etc.)

Maintain good run adjustments i.e., print registration, label adjustments, substrate dimensions and folds.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Read work orders and production schedules to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, locations of cutting/folding lines, and dimensions and tolerances.
Position guides, stops, holding blocks, or other fixtures to secure and direct work pieces, using hand tools and measuring devices.
Start machines, choose correct program for desired part, monitor their operations, and record operational data.
Position, align, and secure work pieces against fixtures or stops on machine beds or on dies.
Measure completed work pieces to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers.
Examine completed work pieces for defects such as chipped edges and marred surfaces, sort defective pieces according to types of flaws and record it properly.
Performs Routine Maintenance including cleaning and lubricating machines.
Grind out burrs and sharp edges, using portable grinders.
Uses forklifts and cranes to move parts as necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description
The Machine Operator is responsible for operating machines in the assigned department. The machines range from various difficulty levels, and may include the following:
Table Saw
Chop Saw
Drill Press
Kreg Drill
Glue Clamp

Straight Line Rip Saw

Machine and Hand Sanders
Duties and Responsibilities
Follows all safety rules and contributes to a safe work environment.
Sets up and operates various machines and hand tools to fabricate and repair wooden cabinets, high grade furniture, countertops and mirrors.
Checks in parts, verifies count, quality and identification of all product that is produced in assigned area, prior to shipment to the next process.
Performs daily maintenance checks and notifies Manager or lead person if problems arise.
Troubleshoots and performs preventative maintenance on machines.
Participates and contributes to a work team environment and follows quality control checks.
Contributes to meeting Bertch manufacturing schedule.
Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Your Role at KIK
Join our team as an experienced Machine Operator managing production equipment including fillers, case packers, cappers, case sealers, palletizers and labelers. The scope of this role is to ensure the efficient and accurate filing of products into containers, adhering to specific volume and weight requirements, and maintain the highest standards of quality and filler operator works with the packaging end of a production line. The filler operator also operates filling machines and makes the necessary adjustments to ensure consistency. This is a 2nd shift position, 3:00PM to 11:30 PM, Monday-Friday and overtime on Saturdays as required. The pay is $17.50/hr.
