    5 South is a 22-bed medical telemetry unit serving young adults to geriatric patients with a variety of medical diagnoses which may require telemetry monitoring. Admitting diagnoses include, but are not limited to: metabolic disorders, stable cardiovascular, renal, GI bleed, substance abuse withdrawal, diabetes, and respiratory conditions. This unit provides peritoneal dialysis services for all peritoneal dialysis patients within the hospital, and plasmapheresis requiring this treatment. Initial patient placement is first determined by the admitting diagnosis. Full-Time - 0.9 FTE/72 Hours Biweekly Night Shift - 7pm-7am Every 3rd Weekend; 1 Major, 1 Minor and 1 Split Holiday Eligible for Shift Differential Eligible for Sign-On Bonus General Summary Provides professional nursing care at the beginner practitioner level within an assigned unit according to established procedures, protocols and regulations. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines. May require specialized skills depending on unit assignment. Duties and Responsibilities * Provides and coordinates direct care in accordance with the principles of Relationship Based Care to patients based on the nursing process and according to the clinical standards of the hospital. Acts as a primary nurse for patients on the unit.
