5 South is a 22-bed medical telemetry unit serving young adults to geriatric patients with a variety of medical diagnoses which may require telemetry monitoring. Admitting diagnoses include, but are not limited to: metabolic disorders, stable cardiovascular, renal, GI bleed, substance abuse withdrawal, diabetes, and respiratory conditions. This unit provides peritoneal dialysis services for all peritoneal dialysis patients within the hospital, and plasmapheresis requiring this treatment. Initial patient placement is first determined by the admitting diagnosis.
Full-Time - 0.9 FTE/72 Hours Biweekly
Night Shift - 7pm-7am
Every 3rd Weekend; 1 Major, 1 Minor and 1 Split Holiday

**General Summary**
Provides professional nursing care at the beginner practitioner level within an assigned unit according to established procedures, protocols and regulations. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines. May require specialized skills depending on unit assignment.

A Brief Overview
The Clinical Nurse (CN) is an RN who provides hands-on care to patients, practicing in an evidence-based manner, within the Scope of Practice of the California Nursing Practice Act, regulatory requirements, standards of care, and hospital policies. In the pre-treatment role, NCs work closely with our physicians to determine what protocols patients will be eligible for, arrange for all required pre-treatment testing, educate the patient and family about the plan of care, coordinate donor search and related donor evaluations, and work with referring physicians. In the post-treatment role NCs work closely with referring physicians and a variety of other specialties as needed in managing long term care, Graft versus Host Disease, and other related complications for this very complex population. There are many opportunities for NCs to advance their knowledge and participate in efforts to improve the care of our patients.
The NC will gain advanced knowledge of the diseases we treat, the therapies we provide, and the management of the long-term side effects of those therapies. Applicant strengths must include: clinical acumen; attention to detail; critical thinking; excellent communication skills; and the ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage a complex caseload. BMT, Hematology, or Oncology specific experience is required. Nurse Coordinator experience is preferred. Within two years of hire we expect that NCs will become BMT certified.

J2 ICU is a Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit of Stanford Health Care. This is a 24-bed state of the art patient and family centric unit. It serves a diverse group of critically ill patients with complex clinical problems. Department Description:
The Stanford Adult Emergency Department is a Level 1 Trauma Center, a designated Comprehensive Stroke Center, Stemi receiving facility, and is Level III Geriatric Accredited. As a three-time Lantern Award winning department, the latest medical technologies have been implemented. The treatment spaces consisting of 66 beds and an 11 bed Clinical Decision unit with over 250 patients seen daily.
