**
Medical Laboratory Scientists (sometimes referred to as clinical laboratory scientists, or medicaltechnologists) are responsible for performing all aspects of testing on patient samples in an attempt to detect the absence or presence of a number of diseases. These medical professionals may examine a host of different types of samples, including various body fluids, feces, cells and tissues. Upon conclusion of the testing, the Medical Laboratory Scientist will report back to the ordering physician and consult with him or her about the results.
**Essential Job Functions**
- Performs routine and complex laboratory procedures; interprets and analyzes results.
- Identifies and corrects problems within the scope of training and education.
- Operates, maintains, troubleshoots, and validates lab equipment.
- Performs, records, and evaluates Quality Control.
- Assists Lead, Supervisor, or Manager with inventory, schedules, and safety.
- Conducts competency assessments.
- May be responsible for developing and evaluating new methods of testing, depending on their experience and position.

Provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders through the use of polysomnography diagnostic and therapeutic services, sleep staging, event scoring and patient education.
Prepares the patient, explains the procedure and ensures patient's cooperation during the procedure; reviews clinical data from patient medical record and by patient interview and bases testing modalities on information obtained; operates polysomnographic equipment to obtain diagnostic recordings following established protocols while manually controlling the equipment to obtain the requested pertinent waveforms from the area being studied; deciphers normal from abnormal results to obtain appropriate or additional tests which demonstrate the abnormality.
Writes detailed, accurate technical reports to aid physicians in interpretation of test data; reviews studies with physicians to clarify any discrepancies and does additional testing when necessary,
Administers various neurodiagnostic procedures without direct supervision while utilizing the appropriate protocols; monitors the quality of tests being conducted while ensuring prudent resource management; follows hospital and departmental sterile technique and keeps work area clean.
Helps coordinate patient scheduling, receives patient payments, reviews patient charges and assists with general office tasks.
Demonstrates proficiency and remains current in the neurodiagnostic field by maintaining continuing education requirements.
EDUCATION, SPECIALIZED AND/OR TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
Must be a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) and hold a current BLS certification.

The Electrophysiology Technologist will perform specialized roles within the invasive cardiovascular procedure setting. Provides appropriate care to patients consistent with level of training.
Performs activities to support the service and/or departmental operation.
Serves, manages, and supports internal and external customers.
Participates in performance improvement activities.
Maintains the laboratory and/or operating room and equipment; manage supplies first in, first out (FIFO), and supports accurate billing for procedures performed.
Successfully completes 3-6 months on the job training (orientation) for full familiarity with surgeons preferences and department policies and procedures.

Utilizes multiple computer applications and medical devices for proper procedure documentation within the electronic health record (EHR). Responsible for monitoring, interpreting and calculating hemodynamic waveforms and EKGs. Assists with the coordination, implementation, and evaluation of patient care under the supervision of the physician in the CCL to promote safe, efficient, and therapeutic patient care. Maintains an electronically and radiologic safe environment in the CCL. Maintains integrity of CCL supply inventory. Ensures accurate charge capture.

* Completed a 50-week U.S. military medical laboratory training course within the past ten years
Certifications:
* MLT Medical Laboratory Technician Certification or eligible by a nationally recognized certification agency (preferably ASCP) (required)
Experience:
* Two years of technical experience in a clinical laboratory setting (preferred)
Skills & Abilities:
* Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-pasted environment
* Engage with staff and patients in a professional manner
