Wenatchee Valley College company history timeline
Wenatchee Valley College opened as a private institution in Wenatchee in 1939 as a result of donations from 51 local citizens.
The referendum, which was held on December 10, 1960, passed by more than a three-to-one margin, 2,195 to 631, to establish a junior college – our Wabash Valley College.
1, 1961. (Bluff Cottage, located near Mt.
WVC, in its first semester in the fall of 1961, offered 23 different courses and 79 weekly hours of instruction; The college had 21 part-time instructors and five full-time instructors.
WVC’s first Commencement was held on June 2, 1963, in the American Legion Auditorium.
In 1967 Community College District #15 was formed, expanding WVC's district to include all of Chelan, Douglas and Okanogan counties.

The first play which was presented in the Brubeck Theatre was on October 13, 1973. “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown,” directed by Barbara Wallace, opened a week of dedication activities for the new Learning Resource Center (Bauer Media Center) and the Fine Arts Building (Brubeck Arts Center).
Anderson Hall was demolished to make way for the new 82,000-square-foot (7,600 m) Wenatchi Hall, which opened in September 2007.
The Wenatchee Valley Foundation raised funds to help finance the construction of the Music and Art Center, which opened near the Wells House in the fall of 2012.
