IT Contract Specialist, Supply Chain, Full time, Virtual Flex
With minimal supervision, acts as the key contact and subject matter expert for all contract-related activities. This includes developing and negotiating contract terms, conditions, modifications, penalties and incentives, while working with key stakeholders to ensure that their requirements are met. Analyzes and evaluates change to drive continuous improvement in the process of contract management and contract management trends. Leads the proactive, methodical management of contracts from initiation through execution, compliance and renewal. Additionally, this position manages the contract execution process; resolving problems, mitigating delays, mediating disputes and escalating issues. Contract Managers at this level are competent to work in most areas of contract management, but may require guidance in others.
Essential Functions
+ Assists with the development of all contracts, including but not limited to; license agreements, amendments, terminations, purchase agreements, management agreements, statements of work (SOWs), and requests for proposal (RFP). Manages the contract development and negotiation process for sourcing initiatives. Enters/maintains current information in the internal contract repository and the system contract database.
+ Develops relationships with managers, business units, supply chain and suppliers to support objectives, influence key stakeholders and jointly develop strategic sourcing strategies.
+ Manages contract review process to ensure delivery against objectives and contractual budgets; develops regular reports on contract milestones and performance; and informs internal customers, suppliers and management of activities and progress, through both verbal and written communications. With minimal supervision acts as the principle contract negotiator for all assigned contracts.
+ Assists in the development of audit strategies to ensure all contracts remain in compliance. Continuously participates in process improvement initiatives and acts as a champion for change.
+ Creates a customer-focused, service-based approach to working with stakeholders and suppliers, which emphasizes the creation and cultivation of cross-organizational relationships.
+ Accountable as a role model for customer service excellence.
Qualifications
+ Required Bachelor's Degree
+ 2 years of relevant experience related field Required
+ 5 years of relevant experience negotiating and managing contract lifecycles Preferred
+ Healthcare experience, with knowledge of best practices for contract negotiation tactics and strategies preferred
+ Experience operating in a highly regulated industry. Medical Device industry sourcing and supplier management preferred

Essential Functions
+ Build a strong relationship with business and functional area leaders to understand and anticipate their needs in order to design glean data insights, solutions, tools and compile information to help inform key decision making.
+ Routinely review financial, clinical, and provider performance for the designated business and functional areas to identify important trends and communicate risks and opportunities for leaders and other key stakeholders in a timely manner.
+ Triage 100% new requests and monitor actual key performance indicators compared to expected (in budget, pricing, trend) for medical and provider leaders, with further understanding at product, region, network, population level as appropriate.
+ Oversee analytic operations-based work for a dedicated portfolio.
+ Assist in development of strategic plan to help achieve or exceed targeted financial results.
+ Perform analysis to help business/functional area leaders understand the drivers for variance.
+ Lead analytical projects as a product owner, solutions architect, SME on behalf of a designated functional/business area leader. Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.
