A Day in The Life of a Coordinator
As a Coordinator in Operations (Kitting Specialist), you will be responsible for preparing and assembling product kits based on customer specifications. This includes using internal systems to manage orders, picking components, building kits, and ensuring quality standards are met.
Review daily build requirements using systems like WMX, spreadsheets, or team communication.
Allocate, release, and pick orders for kitting using an order picker.
Print and follow instructions sheets (typically Excel-based) for each build.
Assemble kits according to detailed specifications and quality control (QC) guidelines.
Pack and label kits per customer requirements.
Bill components in the system and release completed orders.
Coordinate with shipping to ensure timely delivery.
Types of Kits:
Simple Kits: Basic assembly with labeling, shrink wrapping, and packaging.
Rack Builds: Install components (e.g., patch panels, power equipment) into racks per QC instructions.
General Kits: Custom builds that may include verifying/logging equipment details (e.g., MAC addresses, serial numbers).
Programming communication equipment with customer-specific settings and software.

Education & Experience
High school degree or equivalent required
3+ years of order management experience within a warehouse or production environment preferred
1 year of operational and/or logistics experience preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES
Accurately performs inventory transactions for lot controlled and non-lot-controlled inventory following FIFO methods while understanding the difference between Manufacturer and internal lot numbers
Validates inbound shipment against pack slip and open receipt. Completes processing of receipt VMI and performs put away in designated customer inventory storage locations
Reviews shelf life reports and communicates potential issues with team members and/or customers. Scraps material out when appropriate and follows customer specified disposal procedures
Performs and reconciles cycle counts to compare VMI inventory to actual inventory on hand
Proactively seeks out and interacts with key customer contacts to understand demand fluctuations and potential impact on inventory levels. Identifies and troubleshoots onsite issues and works collaboratively to resolve, escalating when necessary
QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of related industrial experience and/or training
High school diploma or equivalency (GED, HSED)
Must work well independently and manage own time effectively

Class Summary: Under general direction of the department supervisor, assists with complicated and complex planning, coordination, and execution of warehouse activities. Maintains accurate records of inventory and freight movement. Advises District personnel on warehouse policies regarding inventory ordering and freight. Performs heavy, manual work in material handling and loading/unloading vehicles.
Essential Duties:
Works with Supervisor to determine safest/best procedures to accomplish warehouse shipping, receiving, stocking, and inventory activities.
Determines and directs daily routing and scheduling for delivery personnel and equipment in order to accomplish deliveries to and pickups from schools and other sites and apprises Supervisor. Collaborates with site personnel to schedule and coordinate warehouse service to sites.
Collaborates with school personnel and/or Supervisor in an effort to determine the rationale for damaged or unwanted goods. Researches discrepancies in deliveries to determine if the District utilized appropriate procedures or if vendor is responsible. Notifies supervisor of poor/damaged products and works with vendor to resolve issues.
Acts as liaison between vendors and school district, ensuring vendor compliance with contract terms and conditions. Maintains an effective rapport with vendors with regard to supply levels and delivery status.
Receives goods and commodities i.e., USDA commodities, food, supplies, chemicals, disposable products, small tools/equipment, etc. Unpacks items and inspects for damage or defective goods as necessary. Refuses shipments as appropriate.
Reconciles shipment with invoice or packing slip information by counting, weighing, or measuring items and comparing size, weight, description and code numbers. Records any discrepancies or damage. Properly stores/rotates perishable items after unloading procedures have been completed.
Receives pick tickets from schools or facilities via approved computer software; determines if inventory is available, fills pick tickets, and generates appropriate delivery documentation. Keeps shelves stocked as appropriate.
Performs minor preventative maintenance to equipment, i.e., greases, checks fluid levels, and changes tires as appropriate. Maintains warehouse in a neat and safe manner. Recommends appropriate safety measures and procedures in an effort to keep working environment safe and in compliance with government standards.
Under minimal supervision, determines on-hand stock levels and generates requests for reordering stock goods. May be required to maintain inventory pricing
Performs inventory spot checks as needed. Assists supervisor in resolving inventory count discrepancies during semi-annual and/or annual reconciliation.
Under minimal supervision, and following MSBSD policies and procedures, evaluates the fitness of surplus equipment and supplies for reuse or sale. Coordinates preparation of public surplus sales, both on site and through online auctions
Loads and unloads by manually lifting up to 100 pounds or by operating heavy or light trucks, forklifts, power gates and other mechanical equipment to aide in the transport of supplies, equipment and mail to all locations.
Reviews vehicle conditions reported on daily pre-trip inspections and schedules and coordinates service with appropriate provider.
Assists with training and advising warehouse personnel on proper procedures, including material handling, safety standards, and documentation.
Advises all departments and/or schools on School Board and MSBSD Warehouse Policies and Procedures.
May be required to perform additional related tasks as delegated by the Supervisor or an assigned designee.
Skills (position requirements at entry): Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of management and associates through written and verbal methods; must possess good reasoning skills, have a positive attitude, and be able to work both independently and in a team environment. Must be able to prioritize workload, work well under pressure with a high degree of accuracy, and maintain accurate documentation of warehouse activities.
Training and Experience (position requirements at entry): Previous education, training, work or life experiences which provide reasonable evidence of the successful performance of the various tasks listed; such evidence might typically be provided by three (3) to five (5) years previous comprehensive warehouse experience. Must possess a working knowledge of OSHA safety rules and guidelines for warehouse environment and power industrial vehicles. Must possess a working knowledge of determining Inventory Par Levels.
Licensing Requirements (position requirements at entry): A valid CDL driver's license is preferred; certified forklift operator preferred.
Physical Requirements: Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.

The Material Handling Technician is responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate movement, storage, and tracking of materials throughout the facility. This includes loading and unloading materials, staging production materials, and maintaining inventory records using warehouse management systems (WMS).
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
Load, unload, and transport materials to designated areas.
Ensure accurate documentation of inventory movement and storage.
Supply production lines with materials and remove finished goods.
Maintain clean and organized work areas in compliance with safety standards.
Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and damage.
Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on material handling equipment.
Collaborate with warehouse, production, and logistics teams to ensure efficient workflow.

**A Day in The Life of a Warehouse Associate**
As a Warehouse Associate you will be responsible for performing warehouse tasks including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, wire cutting, light assembly, as well as general maintenance of assigned areas.
+ Complete log sheets and handle inbound shipments
+ Verify supplier returns and enter order receipts
+ Relocate and consolidate material
+ Prepare and assemble packing lists
+ Pack, label, wrap, and load outbound trucks

+ High school degree or equivalent preferred
+ Forklift Experience
