ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The CORE Program Specialist delivers high quality peer support and recovery focused services that uphold the principles of dignity, autonomy, and community connection. Core responsibilities include: Provide peer support through group facilitation and culturally relevant, educational, social, recreational, and vocational activities. Promote the foundational principles of recovery including hope, empowerment, respect, social connection, self responsibility, and self determination. Offer navigation support including information, referrals, and linkages to mental health services, community resources, and broader health systems. Integrate wellness and recovery principles into all interactions and service delivery. Engage participants in identifying and accessing community based supports that strengthen stability and wellness. Provide coaching and mentoring that supports the development of recovery goals, personal wellness plans, and sustained progress toward self identified outcomes. Utilize a strengths based, person centered approach in all engagement with participants, staff, and community partners. Support participants with coordination, follow through, and implementation of participant driven recovery goals. Serve as a mandated reporter and carry out all required reporting responsibilities including duty to warn. Lived experience may include personal experience with mental health or substance use challenges, or as an immediate family member of someone with lived experience. Minimum six months of experience or volunteer work in mental health, human services, community outreach, or other service oriented settings. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact in a culturally responsive and trauma informed manner. Ability to maintain composure, sound decision making, and physical readiness in potentially stressful situations. Proficiency in basic computer functions including email, word processing, data entry, saving and retrieving files, and electronic documentation.
