This is a part-time, onsite position with a consistent weekly schedule of no more than 25 hours per week. Job Description
AECOM's Water group in Southern California is seeking an experienced Senior Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Engineer for a full-time position as a Technical Lead supporting our water team. The projects executed out of our Orange, CA or Los Angeles, CA offices are primary in the municipal and private sectors. Our team is part of a multi-engineering water/wastewater team that support large infrastructure projects in Southern California.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
* Act as I&C discipline lead on multidisciplinary projects with demonstrated ability to lead one or more teams through all phases of project delivery.
* Be the I&C engineer-of-record (EOR) for projects and project components of varying degrees of complexity.
* Strong understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications, particularly in the water/wastewater industry.
* Strong knowledge of I&C systems, construction means and methods, materials, and industry standards, particularly in the water/wastewater industry.
* Develop and manage I&C scope, budget, staffing, and schedule for projects of all sizes.
* Conduct and/or oversee field reviews required to assess existing as-built conditions.
* Lead the preparation of I&C studies, assessments, technical memorandums, and reports.
* Evaluate and select electrical products and engineered systems for use on projects.
* Lead the preparation and coordination of I&C construction drawings, such as Motor control schematics and loop drawings, Riser diagrams, Installation details, Schedules (panel schedules, cable schedules, etc.), P&IDs, control system architecture drawings, instrumentation standard details and control narratives.
* Lead the preparation of technical specifications, equipment datasheets, and testing and commissioning plans.

Qualifications
Minimum requirements:

* Project management experience, particularly in the municipal water/wastewater sector, will be a significant asset.

The types of projects may include but are not limited to: wastewater and water treatment facilities, pipelines, concrete and steel reservoirs, pump stations, operations buildings, electrical buildings, and other water civil construction projects for municipal clients.
Job Functions:
The candidate must be able to effectively interact with general and specialty contractors, other inspectors, City/Agency staff, and engineers on the jobsite and be able to interpret a wide range of plans, specifications, codes, and standards during the inspection process.
Maintaining excellent technical documentation, such as daily inspection reports, is also required.

ASSOCIATE ENGINEER - WATER SYSTEMS & WATER SUPPLY PLANNING
DESCRIPTION
The Associate Engineer role will contribute to the development of the firm's Water Business Sector. Previous experience with Water System Planning/Hydraulic Modeling is desired. Candidates with a desire to develop their career toward a project engineer/manager role with expanded client duties and professional responsibilities are ideal.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & FUNCTIONS
Performing water distribution system hydraulic evaluations utilizing a variety of commercial hydraulic modeling software programs (e.g., InfoWater, Aquanuity)
Analyzing water use, population, water quality, and facilities condition data
Evaluating water supply availability and reliability
Preparing technical reports and master plans
Serving as task manager to support senior-level engineers and training other staff engineers
Interacting directly with clients and providing excellent client service
Assisting with marketing activities and proposal development when needed
Maintaining accurate records of time spent on each task
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering
Experience with water system planning and hydraulic modeling
4-8 years' experience of applied knowledge in water system planning projects
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience with GIS, hydraulic modeling software (e.g., InfoWater, Aquanuity), CAD
PE licensure in the State of California. PE licensure in other states in which the firm is actively practicing may also be considered.

About the Role: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior or Principal Engineer, Hydrogeologist, or Scientist with expertise in groundwater quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aqueous and environmental chemistry, particularly in the environmental fate of inorganic contaminants, salts, and nutrients. Job Description
The
Engineering Geology
group of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, motivated, talented Staff Geologist for immediate employment in the
Oakland, California
office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of geologic processes and will learn how geologic conditions can impact design and construction of large projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Will conduct geologic and geomorphic mapping.
Log exploratory borings during drilling and collect soil and rock samples.
Install monitoring wells, inclinometers and other instrumentation.
Provide fieldwork oversight of subcontractors.
Evaluate exploratory test pits and trenches.
Conduct geophysical surveys and other in situ testing.
Observe and monitor construction activities for large civil projects (e.g., tunnels, dams, pipelines, bridges, levees, highways, and building foundations).
Prepare boring logs, data analysis summary, generation of subsurface cross sections and profiles, and report writing.
Assist with developing and managing tasks from budget and proposal preparation, development of the work plan, overall task coordination, coordinating and overseeing a variety of investigation techniques.
Will work in the field on large construction projects to verify that design requirements, recommendations, and intent are implemented during construction.
Will work on engineering geology and civil engineering projects that require evaluation of geologic site characteristics through various methods of mapping, drilling, trenching, and geophysical surveying.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
BA/BS in Geology or Earth Science, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Valid U.S. Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.

Experience describing soil and rocks.

Salary range: $83,655 to $143,520. Based on our Davis, CA office location. (West Yost uses geographic salary differentials that would apply for candidates in other regions).

Electrical Engineer (Power Distribution & Control Systems)
Role Description:
This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join our electrical, instrumentation and controls practice area within the OTCR Sector.â¯Using your technical capabilities and collaborating with our experienced team of professionals, you will provide technical and design consulting services with a focus on electrical power distribution, motor controls, lighting, grounding, instrumentation, and controls systems design to support projects for all business sectors within West Yost. You will also manage tasks, oversee the work of engineering professionals, and serve as an industry leader supporting the growth of our municipal water / wastewater practice.
West Yost has developed the AWWA cybersecurity resources since 2019.
West Yost is a CCE licensee from Idaho National Laboratory (INL).
West Yost is a leader in applying cyber informed engineering to our projects to better protect our clients from the cyber attacks of today and tomorrow.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Engage with internal and external project managers and clients.
Perform engineering services during planning and preliminary design.
Perform engineering services during detailed design, including attend/lead meetings, coordinate with project team and vendors, and development of Plans and Specifications.
Perform engineering services during construction, including submittal review, RFI response, field observations.
Performing system analysis using SKM Power Tools power systems analysis software. At a minimum, provide engineering oversight for staff using these software packages to publish a power systems study with arc flash hazard analysis.
Prioritize and balance competing project demands and conflicting project requirements.
Mentor other Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls (E/I&C) engineers and technicians to effectively complete work with attention to detail.
Develop scopes, schedules and budgets for projects and project tasks.
Monitor project scope, schedule, and budget to control the work according to the project plan.
Delegate tasks to others; follow up on completion and quality of work.
Make accurate and implementable decisions in a timely manner.
Participate in client contacts and business development efforts.
Reduce complex aspects of instrumentation and control engineering to terms understandable to others.
Travel will be required to support project needs (approximately 10-15% of time).
Key Skills
Good working knowledge of the National Electrical Code
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Project)
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Performance-driven and ability to work productively, both independently and as a contributing member of a multi-discipline design team
Required Qualifications
5+ years of relevant work experience
Proficient in developing, reading, and understanding P&IDs and control schematics
Proficient in developing, reading, and understanding electrical power and control systems
Possess Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or equal depending on circumstance
Professional Electrical Engineering Licenseâ¯in California, or ability to obtain reciprocity in 6 months.
