Job Title: Principal Analyst I - Senior Product Owner What you'll do: As a Principal Analyst I, you'll lead activities to review current processes and metrics that support operational effectiveness, identify constraints or opportunities that inhibit or accelerate the business and technology strategy. You'll develop options or approach to improve business outcomes, and drive implementation of solutions to achieve desired results. You'll also be accountable for the development and review of artifacts to ensure they accurately describe current state processes, practices, and/or metrics, determining root cause for constraints in the process. Additionally, you'll take part in the identification of alternative processes and practice options with associated impact on KRIs/KPIs or Operational Metrics. You'll also track and communicate enhancements to the current process and practices as to whether the desired results are being realized using data, metrics, and other quantitative measures. Additionally, as the Principal Analyst I, you'll engage with enterprise subject matter experts and stakeholders to tackle complex issues or opportunities that require significant coordination and alignment across different business units. You'll be accountable for understanding the problem statement or opportunity, capturing current state insights while also providing options and recommendations to the identified stakeholders. In this role you'll also identify, socialize, and gather necessary approvals for the upkeep of KRIs, KPIs, and Operational Metrics
As the Senior Data Product Owner, you are the one to lead the continuous delivery teams responsible for the data solutions required by our Regulatory Reporting program. You will facilitate the use of agile best practices and continuous improvement in delivering internal data flows and analytics data products associated with Large Financial Institution (LFI) reporting and standard Regulatory Reporting requirements. You are accountable for the daily operations, agile ceremonies, and Epic/Feature/Story work breakdown for multiple scrum teams.
As the Senior Data Product Owner, the continuous delivery teams you lead consists of data engineers, data analysts, data modelers, and QA engineers. You will ensure the backlog and committed work are properly defined, groomed, and organized. You will lead daily stand-ups, run retrospectives, facilitate sprint demos, and work closely with the Data Platform Product Manager to ensure data products delivered meet stakeholder expectations. This role requires strong communication and collaboration skills to develop relationships across the organization and articulate the progress, challenges, and improvement opportunities that clearly articulate when business value will be delivered. The Senior Data Product Owner will interface with business leadership as part of program updates and statuses.
* Lead on programs and expected to lead activities to ensure that both the business outcomes of the project are achieved as well as the outcomes are aligned to our business strategy. This position will also define the work breakdown structure for all involved teams, by setting and meeting deadlines for that work, leading discussions to gather requirements and review artifacts, while working to resolve issues that impede progress.
* Develop list of critical documentation and artifacts to meet project objectives, complete high-quality deliverables, and effectively communicate learnings, findings, impacts, and next steps with subject matter experts or project stakeholders.
* Use deep understanding of Microsoft Office tools, Diagramming Software (e.g. Lucid, Visio, etc.), and/or other appropriate technical tools in review of Banking processes, functions, or organizational models within a specific domain or functional area utilizing critical thinking skills and strong communication skills to develop clear and concise narratives or communications.
* Leverage Risk Management experience from a large financial institution subject to heightened standards, specifically in risk, compliance, or corporate governance.
* You will act as a servant leader for your team(s) in coordinating the delivery and scrum activities impacting all facets of data product delivery.
* Accountable for managing the Azure DevOps board for all data related Regulatory Reporting Epics and Features and prioritizing all backlog for Delivery Team execution.
* Publish information and verbalize clear communication to management and to the team regarding process, obstacles, changes, and key milestones for quarterly team commitments.
* Coordinate evaluation of scope change, estimates, priority, and trade-offs with Business and Technical Stakeholders.
* Establish Sprint schedule, ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, sprint reviews & retrospectives), evaluate and introduce sprint execution velocity and lead/coordinate corresponding activities.
* Actively plan for, participate in and contribute to PI Planning events.
* Ensure adherence to standard (Agile) process, use of tools, established project delivery standards.
* Champion continuous improvement activities to reduce waste and increase productivity; coaches' teams to conduct continuous improvement events, including business and technical stakeholders.
* Work with required teams for environmental readiness needed for the project completion.
* Collaborate with Dev, QA, UAT, business teams, and production support team to achieve established data product delivery goals.
What you'll need:
* 8+ years of related experience of running projects and teams using the scrum, agile, or scaled agile methodology.
* Bachelor's degree in related field required.
* Expert in using Azure DevOps or JIRA for planning and execution.
* Experience in executing product vision and goals as well as communicating product workflow to keep colleagues informed.
* Experience promoting the agile mindset including challenging and removing organizational and cultural impediments, constantly guiding teams in discovery and learning.
* Experience with facilitating the discussions of complex, high value IT delivery projects that require the coordination of development work or technology work on multiple platforms to achieve desired outcomes.
* Able to work/collaborate across the organization, internally and externally, to ensure alignments, dependencies, and support.
* Experience in interaction at Board/Executive management level of businesses.
* Experience working in an onshore-offshore model.
* Agile/SAFe Certifications is preferred.
* Experience working in RTE and/or Product Owner roles is preferred.
* Experience running data management programs and products is preferred.
* Previous leadership experience preferred.
* Advanced knowledge of general Financial Services or Banking is preferred.
* Advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
* Advanced to expert in process and data analysis within one or two domains or functional areas with deep critical thinking skills.
* Experience working as a SME across one or two domains or functional areas.
