About the Role:
As the Center Director, you'll oversee the daily operations of our Head Start / NC Pre-K program, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. You'll lead a committed team of educators and staff to create a nurturing, developmentally appropriate environment that promotes school readiness and lifelong learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the center
Supervise, mentor, and support staff
Manage enrollment, attendance, and classroom ratios
Collaborate with families to support child development and family engagement
Coordinate professional development, staff training, and continuous quality improvement
Maintain accurate documentation and prepare reports as required
Act as a community advocate for the ECE field
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field
At least 3 years of management or teaching experience in early childhood settings, preferably within a Head Start or similar program
Strong understanding of early childhood education best practices

Essential Duties
Assist the VMT Animal Facilities Manager, attending VMT veterinarians, and VMT students with, but not limited to:
* Daily check-in with supervisor to see if there are any tasks to be completed
* Perform daily walk-through inspections using the SOP checklist
* Verify any daily colony animal medication administrations as prescribed by the supervisor or attending veterinarians
* Manage the kennel phone for student contact
* Report any animal health or behavior concerns to the AFM and attending veterinarians
* Perform weekly to monthly animal facilities task as per SOP's
* Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the facility to USDA standards
* Provide coverage for animal care shifts involving absent students, holidays, student breaks, college closure dates and inclement weather
* Under the direction of the supervisor or attending veternarian, administer monthly flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives to colony animals
* Assist the supervisor or attending veterinarians in new animal processing tasks (vaccines, fecal floats, microchips, etc.)
