Job Summary: The Driver Supervisor is responsible for managing and coordinating the activity of drivers and assigned resources. This position ensures customers receive the highest level of service while operating efficiently in accordance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of drivers
Directs assigned tasks and provides assistance as needed
Recruits and interviews prospective employees and chooses the best applicant based on skills, knowledge, and abilities required for the job
Provides orientation and training for new employees
Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
Communicates expectations, coaches for improvement and distributes discipline as necessary according to policy
Essential Job Functions:
Supervise drivers efficiently by using PeopleNet tools including but not limited to on time performance, preferred routes, unauthorized stops, accuracy of detention requests, and truck performance
Dispatch drivers by using PeopleNet/check calls and work with Planners as applicable to set up routes
Assist drivers with resolving any issues they may encounter
Capture all load information and maintain TMW in real time
Check all loads daily for on time delivery and communicate with Planners and Customer Service Representatives as applicable on any issues
Determine daily capacity of freight and available resources through check calls, hours of service, and maintain a daily list of assets and their locations
Maintain Totalmail within TMW in a timely manner by responding to driver messages, correcting errors, processing detention requests, and determining drivers who aren't utilizing it
Track and document driver service failures
Maintain a current list of assigned trucks for drivers
Broker freight loads out of assigned geographical area via phone calls and either emailing or faxing rate confirmations with approved rates from Planners or Customer Service Representatives as applicable
Provide AM/PM yard checks at the dairies and drop yards and compare with the schedules to ensure loads are picked up in a timely fashion and that the oldest milk is being moved first
Maintain adequate numbers of loadable trailers at these locations
Utilize Lat-Lon to track loads, ensure efficient use of all trailer inventories
Work with maintenance to fix equipment issues and schedule routine maintenance
Review Driver/Truck Performance including average miles, deadhead percentage, customer service late/missed loads
Review driver's license and DOT physical status and remind drivers to renew with the safety department
Responsible for the collection of drug and alcohol screening tests and maintaining certification per regulations
Schedule driver home time/vacation time as needed
Review truck idle time and truck utilization reports to better utilize equipment
Answer the phone in a professional manner
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid Driver's license in state of residency with acceptable driving record
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and submit to the company random drug and alcohol program
Proficient in basic computer skills, Microsoft Office suite, and Google Workspace
Communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of internal and external staff
Manage multiple tasks independently to meet deadlines
Ability to adapt to changing schedules and priorities
Ability to work any schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA regulations, or the transportation industry
Entry-level knowledge of TMW software
Physical Requirements:
Physical Demands: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment including a computer; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods. This is mostly a sedentary office classification, although standing in outdoor work areas and walking between terminals, safety lane, and commercial motor vehicles (CMV) operating areas for short periods can be necessary. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator, and to operate standard office equipment. Positions in this classification occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
Work Environment: The duties of this job are performed in both an office environment, a commercial motor vehicle terminal environment, and outdoors, thereby experiencing some minor to moderate level of noise due to office/CMV equipment. Exposure to various climate conditions, fumes, dust, odors, oil/grease, and gasses.

The Dispatch Lead, Public Safety reports to the Supervisor, Public Safety Dispatch. This position is responsible for the intermediate leadership and support to the Public Safety Dispatchers and will assist the Supervisor, Public Safety in the supervision of the daily activities. Assist in radio dispatching of transit security officers to calls for service, monitoring transit security officer activities and locations and making accurate and concise data updates to the Computer Aided Dispatch computer system. Perform computer clearances and information searches using the National Crime Information System (NCIC) and Texas Crime Information System (TCIC). When necessary, this position will monitor transit system videos to support transit security operations.
WHAT YOU BRING
High School Diploma or GED.
Six (6) years of experience as an Emergency Communications Dispatcher.
Active TCOLE-Telecommunications Operator License.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of the operations of an Emergency Communications Center.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to unpleasant and/or hazardous working conditions. This position works with multiple project timelines and is responsible for managing employees performing work of a complex nature.
Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently throughout an eight-hour period, reach vertically for overhead use as well as horizontally. Must be able to use a telephone or headset equipment.
Incumbents must be able to lift and move material weighing up to 20 lbs., perform work at a computer terminal for 6-8 hours a day, and function in an environment with constant interruptions.

Maintain constant awareness of status of mobile units and update information as it changes.
Receive radio calls from field units; transmit messages via radio or telephone as needed.
Update information on an ongoing basis to ensure all documentation is accurate and concise.
Monitor suspicious activity reporting and assign reports to security or other departments.
Monitor video systems in support of security department operations.
Assist supervisor in monitoring performance standards, conducting administrative investigations and reviews, counsel staff, and coordinate disciplinary action regarding the Public Safety Dispatchers.
Research, analyze and prepare a variety of statistical and other reports for manager, security and other CapMetro leadership as directed.
Support Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority's Safety Management Systems (SMS) process by following safety and security policies, considering safety in every action and reporting safety and security concerns.

JOB SUMMARY
Working with the service manager. Responsible for the safe, efficient, andprofitable operation of the Service department. Oversees the work of the technicians. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
1. Help in writing up repair orders and communicating with the drivers and owners in order to determine problems and solutions to their truck repair needs.
2. Schedules an assigns jobs ad work areas to employees according to their skills and knowledge. This should be accomplished in a manner to eliminate time lost between jobs.
3. Keep track of each customer job and be able to advise the customer as to time of completion, cost of repairs, additional repairs, etc.
4. Help in determining the parts to be replaced and follow through with the mechanics and Parts Department to be sure of parts availability.
5. Help in completing repair orders by getting the mechanics write up of the repairs, seeing that parts are billed correctly, and all needed lines are added to the ticket as it progresses. Be sure each repair is coded correctly.
6. Must be familiar with warranty of all parts of the truck and able to determine if a repair is warrantable.
7. Must be at work at least thirty minutes prior to time for the mechanics in order to analyze the work schedule.
8. Must be willing to work additional hours as the workload and business requires and perform other duties or functions as so directed by management.
9. Must help to insure safe working conditions for all employees.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum high school diploma required. Continuing education course in Management is also required.
