Pros of working at Western Dental

There are none. I am devastated that I have given 10 years of my life to this company only for them to train wreck my career and opportunities in the span of less than 2 years.

Cons of working at Western Dental

The company is drowning in debt. You can’t even purchase a birthday cake for your team. Zero celebrations or recognition. In just the past year they have cut PTO, lowered the quality of benefits but upped the price, large amounts of micromanaging procedures have been put into place, created a high-cost product that has zero research backing it and expect you to sell to patients, they have promised raises twice to teams on the frontline and backed out both times stating the economy is bad. Half way through the fiscal year they added 50k a month to our goals in order to avoid bonus payout. Just recently they gave a 7 day notice that managers are no longer salary but now hourly. I have not received a raise in 5 years and they just cut my pay. Run. RUN. I have never felt so undervalued by an employer and it is absolutely devastating.

Western Dental benefits

They have taken away anything that was great. Morale is 6 feet under and they continue to make it worse

What do you like best about Western Dental's CEO and the leadership team?

High turnover! People start the job, see the misery and bolt. CEO just changed and he is a micromanaging, paranoid lunatic! They made a hygienist upper management and she is exhausting with unrealistic expectations and horrible ideas.

How would you improve Western Dental's culture?

CARE ABOUT YOUR TALENT AND FIX MORALE! There is no company culture because they do not care. Pay the bills at office level! It’s humiliating that our invoices are months past due, so much so that we are denied ordering.

How did you prepare for the Western Dental interview?

The interview was thorough and pleasant. I began my career here with a positive outlook and my manager was fabulous. It’s basic questions about your skills as a leader. Now, they will literally hire any skillset because they are desperate due to high turnover.

How does your compensation at Western Dental compare to the industry average?

ZERO RAISES. Salary was just made hourly and the pay is mid at best

What's the diversity at Western Dental like?

Corporate is mostly men and just a couple women. They do not care about diversity.

What brings you the most joy at Western Dental?

My team. Those at office level are wonderful and the patients are amazing. Working with the patients and providing excellent care to them is so rewarding. I love dentistry, it is my passion.
