It's a job if you're desperate
Low pay, disrespectful management, dangerous equipment, no benefits, the list goes on
None that I can think of
Driving the truck and training students over the road securing the load
The pay wasn't what I hoped it to be for a lease purchase owner operator flatbed with western express
Healthcare insurance of the company for lease purchase owner operator flatbed
What I like the most about Western Express is the driving over the road. I get to see the country and just drive on empty roads for miles.
What I think I’m looking for is more family time off. I’m also looking for a great company that values my work by judgement and I get grow with the company.
My favorite perk is thehealthcare benefits and 401k.
It's a second chance for me so I really appreciate the chance to restart but it also gives me the opportunity to reflect on all the privilege I had at other companies
I'm a lease operator here and I'm still stuck having to deal with there "sliding payscale" in which never really slides. It's $1.05 a mile before expenses 99 percent of the time so even though your leasing with quadruple the responsibility your still paid at the lowest rate which brings you maybe a cent or two higher than a company driver per mile. Its plain out embarrassing to mention to drivers from other companies hauling the same exact load you may have for 30 cent all the way up to a dollar or more per mile than you, so you learn to keep your head down and your mouth closed pretty quick here. I have other complaints but those are hurdles I've already crossed and not soon enough I'll cross this one as well when I'm working for those companies that pay fairly without class action lawsuits again
I'm back doing what I love but it's for a company that only reminds me of all the days I HATED trucking back before I actually found out for myself that GOOD COMPANIES really do exist
