    Job Description Applications will be accepted through December 10, 2025 - Apply on-line at ************ SUMMARY: Under the close supervision of the Distribution Services Superintendent, the Heavy Equipment Operator operates heavy equipment and vehicles used in the construction, maintenance, and/or operation of electric transmission and distribution systems. The incumbent loads, secures, transports, and off-loads heavy transmission equipment and materials to meet system needs. The Heavy Equipment Operator is also responsible for the proper transport of equipment, devices, and material to and from various work locations and for the upkeep and maintenance of all related equipment and vehicles. The incumbent may assist the Lead Equipment Operator on jobs requiring more than one operator and may assist other Equipment Operators or Light Equipment Operators perform their duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following, other duties may be assigned. Operates and maintains assigned equipment including, long haul road tractors, dozers, and backhoes. Loads, secures, transports, and off-loads various types of equipment and materials, such as oversize transformers, oil circuit breakers, and poles, in a safe, reliable manner. Applies safety guidelines while moving equipment and material, some of which is very heavy, and at times works near high voltage and in adverse weather conditions. Riggs secure loads to be transported so that the load is stable and safe. Knows the location of stations and lines on the transmission and distribution system to ensure timely delivery of equipment. Maintains accurate and current records and reports as related to job responsibilities. Ensures that all equipment and tools are maintained in a clean and safe operating condition. Performs skilled operation of equipment related to the construction and maintenance of electric utility transmission and substations. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience: Requires a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of six years of directly related experience in the operation and maintenance of heavy equipment of which at least three years must be in transporting large equipment and materials. In addition, the incumbent must possess knowledge of current state and federal laws, bridge laws, load limits, and other requirements on to the transportation of heavy loads. Knowledge of applicable Department of Transportation regulations on transportation of heavy equipment required. Knowledge of proper rigging techniques to secure heavy loads required. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to understand maps, blueprints, and other construction documents. Ability to speak effectively with other employees. Math Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills: Ability to use a personal computer to access the intranet and Microsoft Office software as required. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must maintain a current State of Oklahoma Class A Commercial Driver's License and be a qualified driver per the rules and regulations of the D.O.T. requirements. This job also requires a crane certification and Oklahoma Pesticide Applicators Certification which must be received within two (2) years of employment. WORK SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS: Must live within a thirty-mile radius of specified base work location. The work schedule may include extensive unscheduled overtime, holidays, and weekends. Overnight travel is required. Responsibilities Break-fix of all Electro-mechanical systems (HVAC, Hydronics, Appliances, Rollup doors, dock locks, air compressors, etc.) Spill and Leak Detection system inspections/repairs Hydronic rack cooling (Deschutes) maintenance and commissioning PMs on HVAC and Hydronic systems (Pumps, Strainers, Cooling Towers, etc.) Team scheduling and material requisition Contribute to site failure reporting (Equipment Status Log) Mechanical project support Clean In Place on heat exchangers Chiller tube inspections and cleaning Site plumbing maintenance/repair Eyewash stations/Shower maintenance Forklift maintenance Gas valve PMs Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team as well as with co-workers/ teammates and leaders across the organization Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications At least seven (7) years of experience in the trade, required Formal training in approved vocational schools in the fundamentals of the trade, required Prior military or technical school training, preferred Willingness and ability to follow guidance from other staff members and management is required. Basic understanding of email and office software required A positive and professional attitude is always required, with a high attention to detail is required. Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and in a team environment required. Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including forklifts, scissor lifts, and small hand tools required. Location Muskogee, OK - On Site Travel Minimal travel between data centers may be required as needed. Work Environment This job operates in a data center, office, and shop environment. This role routinely uses standard maintenance equipment, including ladders, scissor lifts, forklifts, power tools, and voltmeters. While performing these duties, the employee will be exposed to hot and cold environments. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, and lift up to 50 pounds.
