This role is essential for safe foodservice operation. This position reports to Sutton Commons management. The anticipated start date for this position is August 11th. Key Responsibilities: Serves as a representative of Roanoke College, displaying courtesy, tact and respect in all interaction with our students, members of the RC community and with the public. Serve customers with enthusiasm in a positive and friendly manner Apply proper methods of safety and sanitation as instructed by the VDH and Dining Services. Ensure cleanliness and proper storage of all dishware, glassware, utensils, and other equipment. Maintain the cleanliness of the dishroom area and equipment. Help maintain the safe operation of the dish machine by routine inspection, cleaning, and safe use of chemicals. Vacuum the commons before and after lunch. Complete station assignment responsibilities and help elsewhere as needed. Follow policy and procedures as established by Dining Service Management. Alerts managers to discrepancies, and equipment or product damage. Ensure daily and weekly cleaning tasks are completed as required in the dish room. Perform other duties as required. Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities: Depending on assignment, mornings, weekday and weekend availability required. Ability to meticulously maintain a clean and safe food service environment Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to solve problems and work independently.
