What you will accomplish Serve as project manager for a variety of air quality permitting, planning and modeling services across the country. Experience and qualifications for success Requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering (chemical, environmental, or mechanical engineering preferred), or BS degree in environmental science or atmospheric science with relevant experience. Seven (7) years of consulting experience in one or more of the following air quality areas required: air quality permitting, dispersion modeling, emission inventories, air quality construction and operating permits; and/or compliance reporting. Experience with all phases of project development including proposal writing, initial constraints analysis, and permitting, as well as experience managing budgets, invoicing, maintaining project schedules, and supporting quality assurance/quality control efforts. Experience in project management and client management. The Cultural Resources Intern will support a diversity of field-based and office-based projects and will work with talented, multidisciplinary teams of cultural resources professionals. This senior level position can be based out of WestLand's Phoenix or Tucson Offices and will be responsible for helping lead and develop WestLand's overarching Water Resources and Water/Wastewater Engineering programs. While not having direct reports per se, the successful applicant will provide guidance and mentorship to junior project leaders and engineers. Additionally, the successful applicant will have an established clientele in the region and should be comfortable building connections with prospective clients. What will I be doing? Providing Water Resources and Water/Wastewater Engineering guidance and leadership to the company. Engaging in business development activities. Leading and supporting client teams for key clients as a Client Manager. Participating with other senior leaders in strategic planning at both the departmental and corporate levels. Help source and identify external talent. Mentoring engineering professionals at all levels of the organization. Develop and implement SOPs and training. As-needed project management support. What qualifications are required for this role? You will have a bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline or in a related field. Must have a P.E. license. Preference will be given to those candidates that are registered (or have the ability to register) as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Arizona. A minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience working with water/wastewater systems. A minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a project manager in an engineering environment. Expertise in Federal and Local regulatory water/wastewater standards. Ability to foster relationships with a range of diverse employees, clients, federal state and local agencies, and professional organizations. Effective organizational skills. The Phoenix team focuses primarily on Water/Wastewater projects and this position will support the technical development of proposals and designs. If your passion lays in project management, you will have opportunities to grow and develop those skills also. What will I be doing? Creating and developing written proposals. Some technical writing may also be required. Assisting in the development of water and wastewater design projects. This includes designing water distribution storage systems, wastewater collection systems, pumps stations, lift stations, piping and conveyance systems, and other water/wastewater system details. Some management and coordinating of deliverables from subcontractors, vendors, and partner consultants. Coordinating communication and the delivery of information between WestLand, our subcontractors, and our vendors with our clients. Learning how to initiate and develop relationships with current and future clients and vendors. What qualifications are required for this role? You will have a bachelor's degree and/or a master's degree in a related engineering discipline or in a related field. Preference will be given to those candidates that are registered (or have the ability to register) as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Arizona. A minimum of two (2) years of experience working with water/wastewater systems (4+ years preferred). Excellent written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook).
