WestLand is seeking on-call Archaeology Field Technicians for our growing Arizona team. Our crews can be found working throughout the Southwest on CRM projects for private and public sector clients. For out-of-town work that includes overnight, or longer duration stays, per diem and single-occupancy hotel rooms are provided. The successful candidates can be based out of WestLand's Tucson office.
What will I be doing?
* Under direction of a field supervisor, conduct archaeological field work (field survey, testing, monitoring, and data recovery excavations).
* Under direction of field supervisor, record artifacts, features and other manifestations using Trimble GIS, map archaeological features and sites, draw scaled profiles and plans, and maintain paperwork, notes, and records.
* Process and catalog artifacts and other materials under lab staff supervision.
* Perform preliminary analysis and lab tasks under lab staff supervision.
* File and scan records and paperwork.
* Complete record searches and report tables under supervision of senior staff.
What qualifications are required for this role?
* Associates Degree or higher in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field. Prior on-the-job archeology experience may substitute for educational requirements.
* Previous experience in archaeology preferred.
* Ability to conduct fieldwork for long hours in a desert environment featuring extreme temperatures, rough terrain, and potential high altitudes.
* Ability to carry up to 60 pounds of equipment and supplies.
* Ability to bend and kneel for long periods of time.
* Ability to travel out of town for work throughout the Southwest, often on short notice and for extended periods (paid drive time, per diem and hotel provided).
* Ability to work as a member of a cohesive team.

WestLand is seeking a full-time Archaeology Field Director to join our Cultural Resources team in Tucson Arizona. The ideal candidate will have an expertise in southwestern cultural history, archaeology, and local traditions and will have strong ties within the local community. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading teams on archaeological projects across Arizona and potentially neighboring states. For out-of-town projects and longer duration stays, per diem and single-occupancy lodging is provided. The successful candidate will be based out of WestLand's Tucson office.
What will I be doing?
* Leading and coordinating archaeological fieldwork (field survey, testing, monitoring, and data recovery excavations).

* A minimum of two years supervisory experience as a cultural resource professional in the American Southwest.
* Previous experience working in Northern Arizona required.
* Previous experience writing technical archaeological reports.
* Ability to conduct fieldwork for long hours in a desert environment featuring extreme temperatures, rough terrain, and potential high altitudes.
* Ability to travel for work, often on short notice and for extended periods (paid drive time, per diem and hotel provided).

What will I be doing?

Previous experience working in Northern Arizona required.

Grade level eligibility and salaries vary depending upon background, including experience and education, and duty location of the opportunity. Qualifications:
You qualify for the GS-9 grade level in one of the following ways: experience, education, or a combination of both.
Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level that includes:
Detaining suspected violators of federal, state, or local laws and/or arresting violators using the proper law enforcement methods.
Enforcing the laws and regulations relating to importing, exporting, and/or international shipping to and from the United States.
Utilizing intelligence techniques and behavior analysis to identify potential threats and perform risk assessments for violations of laws and threats to national security.
Conducting interviews in a law enforcement capacity for the purposes of gaining information from suspected violators of laws to determine the appropriate course of action.
The above experience will be applied in connection with the following: Ability to make rapid, accurate judgments and decisions with respect to the application of the regulations, instructions, and procedures for importing and exporting merchandise to and from the United States; or enforcement and administration of laws relating to the right of persons to enter, reside in or depart from the United States, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Our Engineering Department in Phoenix is adding experienced Project Engineers to their team! The Phoenix team focuses primarily on Water/Wastewater projects and this position will support the technical development of proposals and designs. If your passion lays in project management, you will have opportunities to grow and develop those skills also.
What will I be doing?
Creating and developing written proposals. Some technical writing may also be required.
Assisting in the development of water and wastewater design projects. This includes designing water distribution storage systems, wastewater collection systems, pumps stations, lift stations, piping and conveyance systems, and other water/wastewater system details.
Some management and coordinating of deliverables from subcontractors, vendors, and partner consultants.
Coordinating communication and the delivery of information between WestLand, our subcontractors, and our vendors with our clients.
Learning how to initiate and develop relationships with current and future clients and vendors.
What qualifications are required for this role?
You will have a bachelor's degree and/or a master's degree in a related engineering discipline or in a related field.
Preference will be given to those candidates that are registered (or have the ability to register) as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Arizona.
A minimum of two (2) years of experience working with water/wastewater systems (4+ years preferred).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook).
The salary range for this position is $79,000 - $104,000.00 per year.

Requirements
U.S. citizenship is required
Possess a current valid driver's license
Carry and use a firearm. Maintaining firearm proficiency is mandatory.
Be at least age 21 at the time of application and less than age 37 at the time you receive a conditional offer of employment, unless you have previous service in a Federal Civilian Law Enforcement position covered by special law enforcement or firefighter retirement provisions, including early or mandatory retirement. Applicants with veteran's preference must receive a conditional offer of employment prior to reaching age 40 to continue in the application process.
You must obtain a Top Secret Clearance and retain it during your career.
Possess uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular, possess corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better in each eye.
Hearing loss, as measured by an audiometer, must not exceed 25 decibels (A.S.A. or equivalent I.S.O.) in either ear in the 500,1000 and 2000Hz ranges.
Submit to a drug test prior to your appointment and random drug testing while you occupy the position.
Complete 13 weeks of intensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center(FLETC) in Glynco, GA and 18 weeks of specialized training at the James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, MD.
Sign a mobility agreement stating your willingness to accept assignments anywhere within the United States and overseas.
Certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so, if you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959.
