Parents and teachers worked together to ready the building for its September 1949 opening, when it began providing a K – 4 program for about 40 children.
In 1949, Joe McCarthy stalked the land forcing individuals and groups to come to terms with their values.
Ground-breaking ceremonies on the Mulholland Drive property took place in August after which the buildings were brought up from storage and school opened in October 1965.
By 1965, Westland finally had a home of its own.
Construction of a new classroom and offices was completed in 1975.
A new auditorium and library were built in 1997.
As expected in 2007, with the assistance of his mates, his center successfully reached the full capacity over 500 students with hundreds still in the waiting list.
In 2008, our founder announced the most exciting news to his fellow institute mates and senior staff who have been loyal and struggling with him in these years of hard time.
Established by a group of fully-experienced & truly-passionate teachers from a hard-time living background, WESTLAND was officially opened in 2011 starting off with Part-Time English Programs of 500 students from our previous center(1) and 20 full-time students in a building of 1760 sqm.
In 2016, WESTLAND Second Campus was officially opened with the launch of International K-12 Programs adapting Math & Science from Singapore Curriculum & IPC from Fieldwork Education.
