Westminster Village company history timeline
1979: Westminster Village officially opened on November 1, 1979.
The first homes were constructed and occupied in 1979.
Westminster Village Muncie officially became independent on July 1, 1980.
1980: Martin Health Center opened in November, 1980.
The decade of the 1980’s began with the appointment of an independent Board of Directors.
After graduating Cum Laude from IU School of Law-Indianapolis in 1981, Richard joined the accounting firm of Coopers and Lybrand in Indianapolis.
In 1987, the Village Foundation, Inc. was formed to improve the quality of life at Westminster Village and support activities that benefit the community.
1988: The Village expanded its single method of entry to include rental and equity return options.
In 1991 the Health Center was expanded to 46 beds.
1995: The Village started construction on the Willows Duplexes.
These rooms, along with a Mall area to include a bank, sundry shop, media room, meeting room, doctor’s office and beauty shop were opened in 1995.
She first moved to West Lafayette as a student at Purdue University and stayed after graduation in 2000.
Upon returning to the Greater Lafayette area, she was fortunate to continue her non-profit work by joining United Way of Greater Lafayette as the marketing director and then in 2004 she joined The Community Foundation of Greater Lafayette as the Director of Philanthropy.
In 2005 the original Assisted Living apartments were converted to Health Center units and one wing of the original Independent Apartment buildings was converted to Assisted Living units.
Stacey joined Westminster Village in July of 2009 after fourteen years at Indiana Veterans’ Home.
As of January 1, 2016 he has begun a transition to an Ownership role within the company.
(Member since 2016) Brad Deno is currently the Vice President of Operations of Kettelhut Construction, Inc. where he has been employed for the last 25 years.
In May 2017, Ben was promoted to Associate Executive Director where he led multiple departments as well as special projects.
Westminster leadership activities include Cottage B chair, co-chairing the Bazaar Committee with Lola the past 5 years, and Resident Council Chair in 2017.
Vice-President (Member since 2018) Richard is a shareholder and the Director of Tax Services for the accounting firm of Girardot, Strauch and Co.
In February 2019, the Board of Directors selected Ben to lead the Village as the next Executive Director.
Candace joined Westminster Village in the spring of 2020.
