'S ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The heavy equipment Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for all repairs and services associated with the heavy equipment. Mechanic will be responsible for assisting service oilers to perform PM's and any other related job duties as assigned. GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants for this position must have prior experience and/or knowledge of tasks associated with repairs and servicing of dozers, haulers, blades, scrapers, loaders, pickups, trucks and other light vehicles and maintenance of diesel equipment. DESCRIPTION OF POSITION DUTIES: Welder/Mechanic/Machinist primary duty is maintaining Marion walking draglines and will assist in mobile equipment, and coal processing facilities repair. Must be able to perform welding duties all mine equipment including coal haulers and track type earthmovers. This person must be able to work at heights (i.e. elevated boom point and tri-structure of draglines). Mechanical experience will include working on heavy, open and enclosed gear systems for draglines (i.e. repair and overhaul). Machinist/Millwright experience and the ability to troubleshoot lubrication systems would be desirable assets. Licensed mobile crane experience is desirable. This position requires working multiple shifts and call-out on a 24-hour basis. Work is completed in varying extremes of environmental conditions with exposure to dust, noise, and adverse weather. Must be physically capable to work on heights above 50 feet, to perform heavy lifting of 50 lbs. or more, to work in confined areas and to work in awkward positions requiring prolonged bending or kneeling. DESCRIPTION OF POSITION DUTIES: Welder/Mechanic/Machinist primary duty is maintaining Marion walking draglines and will assist in mobile equipment, and coal processing facilities repair. Must be able to perform welding duties all mine equipment including coal haulers and track type earthmovers. This person must be able to work at heights (i.e. elevated boom point and tri-structure of draglines). Mechanical experience will include working on heavy, open and enclosed gear systems for draglines (i.e. repair and overhaul). Machinist/Millwright experience and the ability to troubleshoot lubrication systems would be desirable assets. Licensed mobile crane experience is desirable. This position requires working multiple shifts and call-out on a 24-hour basis. Work is completed in varying extremes of environmental conditions with exposure to dust, noise, and adverse weather.
