Burns Weston joined the firm in 1945 and began a major expansion in the representation of insurance companies and of the firm’s litigation department.
Louis Paisley joined the firm upon graduating from law school in 1949 and remained with the firm until his retirement 50 years later.
Harold Fallon joined the firm in 1961 and expanded the firm’s presence in nonlitigation matters.
Brown was elected as a municipal court judge in 1967 where he instituted a $5 reduction in fines in traffic court for those found wearing a seat belt at the time the citation was issued, the first such program in the country.
In 1973 Gilligan appoined Brown as a Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge.
Lee Howley joined the firm in 1975 after serving as the Vice President and General Counsel of CEI. He expanded the firm’s general practice business.

He remained on the bench until 1986 when he joined the firm of Weston, Hurd, Fallon, Paisley & Howley where he remained until his death.
In July 2006, the firm expanded beyond Cleveland when it opened an office in Columbus, Ohio.
In December 2007, the firm expanded once again when it opened an office in Beachwood, Ohio by combining with the law firm of Persky Shapiro & Arnoff Co., L.P.A. The Beachwood office focuses on business matters, business reorganizations, estate planning and probate, litigation, real estate and tax.
In 2007, Carolyn M. Cappel was elected as the firm’s first female Managing Partner – one of the first female managing partners of any law firm in Cleveland.
