Weston & Sampson is currently seeking a Technical Coordinator for our Health & Safety team with a minimum of 3 years of experience to provide administrative support for our Health & Safety Program. This position will be part-time (24 to 32 hours per week) out of our Reading, MA office location and offers a hybrid schedule and flexible working hours.
What you'll do:
Administrative Support
Posting company-wide communications from the Health & Safety Team.
Coordinating documents including client proposals, safety inspection reports, health & safety plans, and corporate safety programs documents.
Assist in scheduling Safety Team meetings, training sessions, site inspections, and safety events.
Attend weekly Safety Team meetings, take meeting notes, summarize meeting minutes and action items.
Safety Team & Corporate Safety Program Support
Coordinate our internal safety training program through managing our online learning management system (HSI Safety Training LMS) and prepare/distribute training certificates as needed.
Monitor and update safety management system (HSI) including incident reporting, training tracking, and corporate safety documents.
Coordinate incident reviews, incident reporting, and review follow-up
Coordinate OSHA reporting & company-wide regulatory postings
Coordinate with corporate Safety Committee, record monthly meetings, and provide meeting summaries to the Safety Team
Oversee onboarding of new hires including scheduling required safety & human resources training, coordinate required OSHA trainings /certifications
Coordinate and track medical monitoring as required for OSHA compliance (i.e. HAZWOPER, Respiratory Protection) and per corporate requirements.
Manage third-party health & safety reporting ( monthly annual) and client requests for health & safety metrics.
What you will bring:
Bachelor's Degree in Workplace Health & Safety Management, Environmental science or equivalent with a concentration in health and safety preferred
A minimum of 3 years of administration related experience is required
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work in a team environment and get along with others
Good writing and verbal communication skills
Ability to organize, manage and coordinate multiple assignments
Able to work flexible hours
Able to meet deadlines and to work cooperatively with others
Must have strong computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft office software, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, and other database software
Knowledge of project management and/or safety management system programs is a plus
Knowledge of OSHA regulations and/ or general industry/ construction safety practices is a plus.
Salary Range: $25.00-$35.00 an hour.

Your Key Responsibilities
* Perform commissioning/validation tasks including reviewing shop drawings and equipment submittals, reviewing and/or generating commissioning and validation plans, user requirement specifications, functional and design specifications and other applicable lifecycle documents.
* Review designs, drawings, specifications of facility and equipment and automation to understand project scope and commissioning/validation requirements.
* Prepare commissioning/validation protocols adhering to specifications, client templates and lifecycle documents.

As a Mechanical Engineer, your role in our professional consulting services team is to work independently on multidisciplinary projects of various complexity as a discipline leader, through all phases of a project lifecycle. As a Water Reuse Engineer, your main objective will be to support the delivery of water reuse projects in the Northeast U.S., with the potential to work on projects across North America and internationally. Your Key Responsibilities
- Design alternative water sources, advanced water purification, and related water and wastewater projects as a project engineer, including pilot studies, engineering calculations, drawings, and reports; client presentations and required applications to regulatory and/or funding agencies.
- Participate in the development of water reuse solutions with clients. This includes, but may not be limited to, face-to-face client interactions, site visits, technical training for client staff, workshop presentations on treatment technology, planning, regulatory frameworks, etc.
- Coordinate with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors.
- Prepare and coordinate pilot studies, engineering studies, design reports, and project specifications with construction documents.
- Engage in developing a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
- Collaborate with project managers and senior engineers to develop and manage the project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own products and facilitate independent technical review of these projects.
- Support the permitting process of projects, which may require meeting with clients, contractors, and interested stakeholder parties and reviewing agency personnel.
- Assist in developing and updating project design standards and guidelines; prepare abstracts and technical papers.
- Participate in strategic planning for the water reuse practice.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Ability to participate and collaborate in project team settings and to engage in creative and critical thought.
- General understanding of all phases of project document production, client procurement procedures, and regulatory approval processes.
- Understanding local and regional jurisdictional codes and legal and design requirements in relevant jurisdictions with specific emphasis on water reuse regulations.
- Understanding aquatic chemistry and water quality issues relevant to municipal and industrial water reuse.
- Effective communicator and able to deliver technical presentations in public forums in conferences and technical symposia.
- Ability to evaluate and design advanced water treatment processes.
- Ability to perform hydraulic calculations.
- Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite, Bluebeam, and Adobe.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering. Master's degree is preferred.

* Review the design for adherence to client's schedule, budget, logistics and applicable regulatory agency requirements.
* Develop, track, update, forecast, maintain the project schedule and budget throughout all phases of the project.
* Administer all contracts and invoices on behalf of client.
* Anticipate key issues for the betterment of the project and make decisions on major project events, taking into consideration the impact the final direction has on the project goals.

Your Capabilities and Credentials
* Understanding of and ability to read plans and specifications.
* Understanding of preconstruction/project development process and requirements.
* Understanding of contracts (negotiations, language, and requirements).
* Ability to analyze and manage project budgets logically and effectively.
* Strong computer skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and scheduling software.
* Exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
* Exceptional organizational skills and problem-solving abilities.
Education and Experience
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management is preferred, Architecture would be considered.
* Minimum of 5-10 years' experience in a related field.
* Experience in cGxP and/or cGMP is required.
* Experience as an Owner's Representative in Project Management on biopharmaceutical/ life sciences projects is an asset
* Experience managing capital projects previously is required.
* Experience with manufacturing processes or process engineering is an asset.
* Experience with scheduling software is a plus.
