What you'll do:
Responsible for providing support to our transportation staff to help meet client deliverables
Exposed to a variety of assignments including roadway design along municipal and state highways, intersection improvements such as roundabouts and signalized intersections, streetscape, multi-use pathways, ADA enhancements, bridge projects, and drainage improvement projects
Be flexible in terms of handling multiple and wide range of assignments
Assist the Project Engineer/Project Manager with engineering studies, designs, cost estimates, and specifications
Visit project sites to perform project tasks as directed by the Project Engineer/Project Manager
May be required to perform sample collection/field work for stormwater sampling for townwide studies and oversight of sediment and erosion control measures during construction
Prepare roadway horizontal and vertical alignments, cross sections, intersection grading plans, signing and pavement marking plans, and maintenance and protection of traffic plans, prepare quantity take-offs and cost estimates. Contribute to technical reports and proposals, and assist with development of contract documents for public bidding, etc.
Develop drainage areas, prepare stormwater modeling, and develop pipe networks in CAD
What you will bring:
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
Production support experience including report preparation and CAD operations
Experience with AutoCAD (Civil 3D a plus) and Bentley Microstation (OpenRoads a plus).
Experience with HydroCAD or StormCAD a plus
EIT is preferred
Valid driver's license

Environmental FERC Permitting Project Manager

Your Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical leadership and project management for oil & gas midstream permitting projects (FERC-regulated natural gas or liquids pipeline projects) and energy transition projects throughout the US.
* Manage permit applications and agency coordination related to Threatened and Endangered Species, Sections 404/10, Coastal Zone Management Act, and Section 106 Cultural Resources.
* Develop and maintain positive client relationships, including seeking opportunities for new business and supporting proposal development.
* Create technical documents and provide review of technical documents that support regulatory submissions.
* Support and ensure implementation of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Policies, Procedures, Standards and Guidelines in the execution of all work and coordinate with HSE professionals during the execution of all phases of project planning and implementation.
* Communicate and collaborate with other Environmental and Regulatory Specialists to ensure consistency in project execution.
* This position works as part of a larger midstream & energy permitting team and there will be opportunities to support multiple Stantec projects and offices nationwide.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
* Demonstrated experience managing pipeline projects. Experience permitting large natural gas or liquids pipelines is critical.
* Demonstrated experience with FERC and NEPA requirements and processes, mitigation measures, and related implementation.
* Demonstrated experience managing FERC-regulated projects, including 7(b)/ 7(c) applications and prior notice/blanket authorization projects.
* Demonstrated experience managing resource report development for FERC-regulated projects
* Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and to prioritize and balance sometimes heavy workloads to achieve goals while keeping up with a highly mobile and changing environment.
* Must have strong oral and written communication skills, and be customer focused to understand and appropriately respond to client's business needs.

We are currently seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer. The Transmission Line Engineer performs various engineering assignments which requires a general familiarity with a broad field of engineering. * Strong leadership and communication skills are required. Candidate must effectively work as part of the multidiscipline design team and provide leadership and guidance to the team.
* Registration as a Professional Engineer in the United States is mandatory.

We are currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to work in our Power Division, contributing to the successful completion of projects in the transmission & distribution and renewables sector. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Responsibilities:
* Review and authenticate functional and detailed designs of site preparation, storm water management, site grading, access roads, and fencing for projects in the power industry.
* Liaise with other discipline leads, project managers, vendors, contractors and clients to facilitate smooth flow of information for use in preparing preliminary and detailed design and provide design clarifications and solutions during construction.
* Apply knowledge of North American codes, regulations and standards and have a good working knowledge of local Municipal Specifications, Guidelines and best industry practices.
* Provide technical leadership to the Civil team on projects.
* Participate in design reviews on various projects and provide technical input.
* Monitor project schedule and budgets within your area of responsibility and report status on a regular basis
* Attend project meetings as required
Qualifications:
* 10+ years experience in civil engineering, specifically in transmission lines, high voltage substations, industrial, power generation, hydro, and/or utility projects is considered an asset.
* Experience in industrial design including but not limited to: site development, grading and drainage design, site utilities / tie-ins, erosion control, and road design
* Working knowledge of civil design standards in the USA
* Strong communication, report writing, organization, analytical and interpersonal skills
* Must possess a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering and be licensed to practice as a professional engineer in the USA
* Knowledge of the following software packages is an asset: Civil 3D, XP Storm, Water Cad, AutoTurn and AutoDesk AVT.
* Must be able to work independently and with others on multiple projects.
* Able to work as part of a multi-discipline design team.
* Experience in business development and structural design would be an asset.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy

The selected candidate will lead in the design for traction power substation enclosures, site plans duct banks and ground grids for mass transit applications, including commuter rail, high-capacity mass transit and light rail. Your Key Responsibilities
- Design shared use path, trail and complete streets projects in accordance with AASHTO and MassDOT specifications and CAD Standards using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

We are currently seeking a Transmission Line Engineer. The Transmission Line Engineer performs various engineering assignments which requires a general familiarity with a broad field of engineering.
