As the Shipping Coordinator, you will be responsible for organizing and managing the day-to-day logistical activities for shipping and receiving of the Plant facility. Your role is also responsible for ensuring personnel operate efficiently and safely, maximizing loads while minimizing shipping costs, and coordinating with 3rd Party Logistics Companies to ensure on-time delivery of customer products and high customer satisfaction. How you will impact Smurfit Westrock: * Coordinate daily dispatch to ensure timely and cost-effective shipment methods * Identify opportunities to maximize manufactured square footage (MSF) per trailer to increase utilization of assets and increase cost savings * Coordinate material staging, shipments, pick and pack order fulfillment, expired inventory destruction, and raw and customer owned inventory * Maintain working knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations and general routes to create time efficient shipping schedules * Ensure Shipping Clerks safely operate material handling equipment (e.g. forklift) and properly adhere to all safety regulations and procedures * Partner with 3rd Party Logistics Companies to coordinate dock times for customer receipt of inventory What you need to succeed: * 3 years of experience in Shipping and Receiving in a warehouse environment * Great written and verbal communication skills with ability to adjust communication style and interact across all levels of the organization * Strong decision-making skills with the ability to adapt and quickly respond to unforeseen changes in the production environment * Well organized with great time management skills to manage the execution of multiple priorities The starting rate is $22.55 per hour, depending on your role, level, and location.
