Duties Description The seasonal field technician will be a part of a team working on population monitoring and habitat/life history description for the Atlantic Coast Leopard Frog (Lithobates kauffeldi) to meet the goals of NYSDEC's State Wildlife Action Plan. Duties of this technician include installation and maintenance of automated audio recording systems, identifying frog calls from recordings, capturing frogs and fitting them with radio transmitters, tracking frogs using radio telemetry, habitat assessment via water and vegetation sampling, data entry and organization, and other duties as deemed necessary. Work will take place in wetlands and require navigation through muddy terrain with thick vegetation. The technician must be able to work in rain and windy conditions. Other wildlife surveying such as assistance with duck banding, river otter surveys, and muskrats surveys may be required.
Minimum Qualifications Thirty (30) semester credit hours, including 12 semester credit hours in fisheries, marine resources or wildlife management; mariculture; marine biology; aquaculture; aquatic, marine or terrestrial ecology; zoology; marine technology; botany; limnology; hydrology; or oceanography.
Additional Comments This is a hourly appointment currently funded through 3/31/2026, with a likelihood of continuing beyond that date. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date.

As part of the Wildlife Program crew, assists with executing the Department's wildlife and invasive species programs. Assists with field work and monitoring for native and non-native wildlife species, including seabird colonies; coastal marine wildlife (e.g., monk seals and turtles); invertebrates; bats; non-native predators; and game mammals. Assists with control of non-native predators and invasive plants to protect native wildlife. Supports overall Conservation programs to protect Lānaʻi's natural resources, including habitat protection and improvement; use of remote monitoring equipment; and monitoring and surveying activities in remote areas and steep (but beautiful) terrain.

$20.65-$27.17/hour (non-exempt)

Qualification/Requirements:
Must have a high school diploma. One year of work experience in natural resource management and/or some college coursework is preferred. An internship in natural resource work can be substituted for work experience.
Must be able to legally acquire, possess, and use firearms.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and email.
Experience with GIS is preferred.
Must have a strong safety ethic.
Must be able to drive 4-wheel drive, ATV, and UTV vehicles on off-road conditions.
Must be able to effectively, efficiently, and safely execute instructions and direction.
Must have demonstrated knowledge of Hawaiian native flora, fauna, resource issues, and related field methods.
Must be able to identify key wildlife species, and research appropriate courses of action.
Must be willing to work irregular hours, and serve on-call to assist in other program areas.
Must have a demonstrated ability to work successfully as a productive team member with people of diverse cultures, ages, and educational backgrounds.
Knowledge and experience with Hawaiian language, culture, and/or natural resources, preferred; knowledge and experience with Lāna‘i natural resources and people, preferred.
Must be willing to work in remote field conditions and in inclement weather.
Must be willing to fly in and work around helicopters.

GLA is currently seeking a full-time Environmental Monitoring Technician (Technician) to provide support for civil/site infrastructure, solid waste, mining, and environmental evaluation and remediation projects in GLA's Riverside, California field office.
Candidate will be expected to work away from home on a regular basis. Work will include daily travel, working at remote sites, and interaction with team members, clients, contractors, and the general public. Candidate will regularly work at municipal solid waste disposal sites, hazardous waste sites, and mine sites. The Candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Employment is subject to a pre-employment physical examination, including drug screening.
Office Location: Riverside, California
The Technician will be expected to provide sample collection, field observation, and documentation at landfills, mine sites, public works construction sites, and other similar project sites. The work shall include, but not be limited to:
Collecting groundwater, stormwater, surface water, leachate, landfill gas condensate, septage, soil-pore gas, and soil samples
Calibrating and decontaminating field equipment
Preparing samples for shipment

Job Summary
DJ&A is seeking two seasonal Rangeland Monitoring Technicians out of Reno, Nevada, with one year of relevant experience to work March/April through September 2025. There is a possibility of an earlier start date and/or a transition into a full-time position for the right candidate. Candidates will have a bachelor's degree in rangeland ecology, natural resource management, or biology and at least one year of experience with rangeland or vegetation monitoring. Qualifications may be met through education, experience, or a combination. Technicians will be paired with a field lead, and as a team of two, they will conduct rangeland monitoring on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) administered land throughout Nevada. Technicians may also participate in fieldwork in other states across the West. This position requires working, hiking, and camping in remote areas during the spring, summer and fall. Technicians must be detail-oriented, enjoy being outside for long periods, work well with others, and be interested in learning about rangeland science.
Primary Duties and Schedule
Technicians will conduct rangeland field monitoring for an average of 5 consecutive days, up to 12 days maximum. Fieldwork will typically occur during the work week, though there may be occasional field stints that extend into the weekends to maximize efficiency. A typical schedule will be one week in the field, followed by a week in the office.
Technicians will be responsible for a large amount of data entry and will be expected to enter, manage, and review data with accuracy and consistency to ensure high quality. Attention to detail is essential and expected.
Fieldwork is often located in remote and rugged areas of Nevada and will be accessed using a 4x4 truck, UTV, or on foot. Road conditions can be highly variable and challenging. Technicians will be expected to share and comfortably handle driving and vehicle maintenance responsibilities alongside field leads. UTV, trailer, and other related training will be provided.
Safety is DJ&A's top priority, and all field personnel are expected to perform tasks and act in a safe manner in accordance with company policy and internal training.
Field Data Collection Overview
Monitoring methods include but are not limited to Key Species Utilization, Height-Weight Utilization, Production, Riparian Multiple Indicator Monitoring, and Photo Plots. All crew members will participate in protocol trainings to ensure understanding of relevant monitoring methods, data entry procedures, and QAQC processes.
DJ&A is committed to the professional development of all its employees. Therefore, technicians receive training throughout the season with the expectation that they will be able to perform monitoring methods without technical assistance by the end of the field season. Office Work Overview
When not in the field, technicians are expected to work in the office located in northern Reno near Parr Boulevard. Some remote work is allowed but must be approved by the supervisor.

Technicians will assist field leads in the planning and preparation of upcoming field stints. This work involves route planning, equipment packing, cleaning and organizing, vehicle maintenance, and occasionally running errands around Reno.

Role
As an Environmental Technician, you will assist clients in meeting compliance standards by inspecting and monitoring their sites while maintaining high levels of safety and integrity. Experience is not required, but related experience is a plus.

Perform environmental compliance inspections at an oil refinery using air monitoring equipment, and data collectors.
Supervise and perform environmental inspection, monitoring and testing;

Inform purchasing about spare/replacement parts supply level and initiate orders for parts and service.

Qualifications:
