Melissa D. Melissa assumed the role of CEO and a seat on the board of directors in January 2014 after serving as the company’s president since May 2013.

Her background in finance is significant and dates back to the start of her career, at Ernst & Young. Over the years, Melissa has had responsibility for finance, IT, operations and business development in many roles at WEX. As senior vice president of finance and chief financial officer, she spearheaded the company’s IPO in 2005. Under Melissa’s leadership, WEX has experienced double-digit growth-to become a $1.7 billion company-and expanded globally beyond its core fleet offering to include healthcare and travel.

Melissa demonstrates a strong commitment to the local business and nonprofit communities in Maine, where she currently serves on the not-for-profit board of directors for MaineHealth. She is cofounder of the Executive Women’s Forum and sheJAMs, an organization that fosters an atmosphere where women can train together noncompetitively. Annie joined WEX in 2014, bringing to the company nearly 15 years of experience in business risk strategy and management, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and mergers and acquisitions. As chief risk & compliance officer (CRCO), Annie is responsible for managing all of WEX’s enterprise risk management efforts, which include global oversight of WEX’s regulated financial service entities, corporate compliance, credit risk management, insurance, third party risk management and organizational resilience. She previously served as senior vice president, and chief ethics and compliance officer, overseeing WEX’s global programs covering ethics and compliance, enterprise risk management and organizational resilience, and the provision of legal support involving Bank governance and regulatory matters, privacy, litigation, human resources and procurement.

Prior to joining WEX, Annie was associate general counsel and chief compliance officer for SIG SAUER and IDEXX Laboratories, where she advised on domestic and international legal matters, built compliance and ethics programs, set reporting strategies, and supported the general counsel with corporate governance, board matters and SEC reporting. Annie also worked in private practice at Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York and Sheehan Phinney Bass & Green in New Hampshire and served as a law clerk for Judge Eugene E. Siler Jr. of the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. She holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky College of Law, where she graduated first in her class, and a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University. She is active in her community supporting nonprofits with missions that she is passionate about and she holds a seat on the Board of Directors of Olympia Snowe Women’s Leadership Institute and the Dempsey Center.
