POSITION SUMMARY
The Health Services Administrator is responsible for effectively and efficiently managing the institution's overall health care delivery system and monitoring all health service contract activities; consulting with the Regional Manager or designee regarding routine institutional issues of an administrative nature, and discussing issues of a complex or unusual clinical nature involving patient management with the Site Medical Director.
Coordinates and monitors preparation of the institutional health services budget with the Regional Manager and Statewide Director of Operations.
Supervises requisition of supplies and equipment to ensure appropriate usage and availability; and maintain property and equipment control records as required.
Assists in developing and maintaining staff schedule in accordance with contract terms of staff coverage. Responsible for making changes in time schedules, and granting special requests for time off, if applicable.
Approves monthly statistical reports and ensure timely submission; complete all necessary reports on a timely basis.
Ensures the confidential maintenance and safekeeping of all medical records and information to comply with HIPAA regulations.
Monitors overall performance utilizing national standards and contract deliverables.
Performs administrative employee relations functions to include: supervision of performance, recruitment and selection, developing job descriptions, performance management, implementing corrective action and individual development plans, scheduling and approving PTO, etc.
Supervises scheduling of patients for outside appointments. Reviews initial hospital specialty referrals with the Medical Director to ensure appropriateness and oversee interactions with medical specialists.
Resolution of audit findings by the development, implementation and monitoring of corrective action plans.
Evaluates and respond to Corporate Risk Management Department inquiries, complaints or grievances by patients, family members, lawyers or other advocates.
Works jointly with Clinical and Education staff to ensure that appropriate training in CPR and First Aid is completed per regulatory and contractual requirements.
Collaborates with co-workers and coordinate internal projects, as directed
Participates in a company and state approved CQI Program
Upon receiving the necessary training and/or instruction, performs other related duties as required or assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION: Associates degree in a healthcare-related field required. Bachelor's degree preferred

2 years of administrative and/or correctional nursing experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree.

POSITION SUMMARY
Under administrative and clinical supervision of the Regional Medical Director, the Site Medical Director is responsible for promoting and providing high-quality medical care. Works collegially and cooperatively with the Regional Medical Director, other physicians, physician extenders (e.g., physician assistants, nurse practitioners, etc.), dentists, psychiatrists, psychologists, and any other medical professionals working within the medical facilities at the site. Actively participates in discussions regarding the resolution of problems related to quality of care, patient safety issues and patient complaints/grievances arising at their site. Responsible for maintaining utilization management and clinical practice standards through the application of the organization's clinical criteria. Participates in the development of medical/clinical policies and case consultation to clinical staff when asked. Maintains the highest level of medical quality and service at the assigned site and represents organization clinical philosophy to patients, providers, facility personnel, and the community. Utilizes electronic medical record system as applicable throughout the scope of duties and responsibilities.
1. Participate in Clinical Case/Disease Management initiatives.
* Treats difficult to manage patients with chronic disease.
* Utilizes Corporate clinical experts to assist in chronic disease management.
* Reviews all patients to be presented at Collegial Review for off-site/specialty care Prepares and presents cases at the Collegial Review.
* Ensures that no backlogs occur for chronic care clinics and sick call by working with site providers and site manager.
* Ensures appropriate infirmary care is delivered. Supervises infirmary rounds.
* Reviews care plans for all patients returning from hospitalizations, ER runs, and off-site specialty care visits.
* Reviews and signs-off on labs daily.
2. Provides clinical supervision (a leader and mentor for) staff physicians and mid-level providers at the site level.
3. Works closely with the site manager to ensure successful, efficient and effective patient care.
4. Responsive to Corporate, State-wide, Regional Medical Directors and Regional and Site Managers.
* Checks email at least twice daily.
* Respond to the Agency Medical Director with guidance from the Regional and State-wide Medical Directors.
5. Addresses medical grievances with assistance of Site Managers.
6. Communicates regularly with dentists, mental health professionals, and optometrists on site to develop a more holistic approach to healthcare for our patients.
7. Responsible for communicating clinical and administrative issues to Site Manager and Regional Medical Director quickly and efficiently.
* Develops corrective action plans for clinical and administrative deficiencies in conjunction with the Site and Regional Managers and Regional Medical Director.
8. Performs death and case reviews prior to sending these reviews to the Regional Medical Director.
9. Performs Peer Reviews on Medical Directors/providers from other facilities.
10. Participates in monthly reviews of off-site care, DME utilization, provider prescriptive practice, laboratory, and x-ray services for their site in conjunction with the State-wide Medical Director, Regional Medical Director and Corporate Director of Pharmacy Services or designee.
11. Meets with the Warden/AWP regularly and develop good working relationships with security.
12. Assists Staffing in provider recruiting initiatives.
13. Participates in provider training.
14. Participates in audits.
15. Ensures site clinical coverage. Shares in after-hours and weekend call duties.
16. Other duties as assigned by the State-wide and Regional Medical Directors.

POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Regional Dental Director, a Dentist licensed in the state of West Virginia, responsible and accountable for supervising the dental staff and managing the dental activity as well as for providing oral health care to patients such as fillings, extractions, dentures, root canals, etc.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provides overall supervision of the dental department including hiring, coaching, counseling, administering discipline and termination of subordinate staff as needed.
2. Provides preventative and restorative treatment to all inmates.
3. Performs and interprets radiographic examinations as indicated.
4. Performs all general dentistry services including, but not limited to restorative, surgical, periodontal, endodontic and prosthodontic services as described by West Vriginia Health Service Bulletins.
5. Supervise staff in: cleaning of teeth, making impressions for prosthetic devices, planning and maintaining an oral hygiene program, completing appropriate records accurately and all procedures associated with the provision of dental care.
6. Arrange proper referral for procedures that cannot be performed on-site at facility.
7. Provides supervision of staff in instruction of offenders in preventative practices for maintaining proper oral hygiene.
8. Submit monthly report of Dental Department activities.
9. Participate in staff development programs.
10. Develop and update departmental policies and procedures.
11. Supervise and evaluate all assigned dental staff.
12. Forward all outside referrals of offenders to the Regional Dental Director to assure the necessity for such referrals.
13. Serves as clinical authority on all matters related to the delivery of dental services, and provides direction, guidance, and oversight to the dental staff and programs.
14. Determines the timeframes for non-emergent and elective treatments according to priority and availability.
15. Determines the appropriateness of non-routine treatment and ensure that such treatment will not interfere with the provision of greater priority services.
16. Examines patients and documents findings on standard forms, utilizing applicable dental classification systems (i.e., APHA).
17. Provides or arranges for appropriate preventative restorative dental care as needed within the administrative guidelines to all inmates.
18. Provides or arranges for appropriate care for emergency patients as soon as possible.
19. Ensures continuity of care.
20. Supplies data for clinic reports as requested.
21. Keeps dental licenses up-to-date, and ensure current copy is on file in the Health Care Unit.
22. Must be CPR certified and skilled in recognizing the symptoms of shock and fainting, and must be prepared to provide necessary aid as directed during emergency procedures.
23. Responsible for dental office security to include instrument, medicine and needle counts.
24. Responsible to ensure appropriate and quality orientation for all newly hired dental staff.
25. Notifies the Wexford Health Staffing Department of vacant or upcoming vacant positions in a timely manner and actively assists the Staffing Department in the filling of vacant positions.
26. Is familiar with overtime and commodities budgets and works to remain within budget.
27. Notifies Regional Manager of staffing vacancies.
28. Obtains approval of Wexford Health and WVDOC administration prior to exceeding staffing hours.
29. Strives to ensure 100% compliance of staffing hours.
30. Complies with and enforces Wexford Health/Facility Policy and procedures and ensures subordinate compliance.
31. Member of the Quality Assurance Committee.
32. Receives direction from WVDOC personnel as appropriate, including but not limited to Wardens, Assistant Wardens and HealthServices Administrators.
33. Maintains the confidentiality of inmaterecords.
34. Approaches change in a positive manner.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Optometrist examines eyes and visual system; administers sight tests; diagnoses problems or impairments, manages, and treats visual problems, conditions and diseases of the human eye and visual system. Prescribes and fits corrective glasses or contact lenses. To do this involves the use of specialist equipment. The incumbent also recommends other treatments or visual aids where appropriate or refers cases to medical practitioners as necessary. May prescribe therapeutic drugs to treat specific eye conditions.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Examines the eyes of patients of various ages to detect signs of injury, disease, abnormality and defects in vision;
2. Checks for signs and symptoms of general health conditions (for example diabetes};
3. Communicates with patients to get detailed case histories;
4. Uses specialist electronic equipment for diagnosis and testing;
5. Writes prescriptions for glasses, contact lenses and other optical appliances;
6. Fits and checks prescribed lenses in order to correct vision defects;
7. Offers advice and reassurance about matters related to vision;
8. Offers help and advice for patients choosing frames and lenses;
9. Writes referral notices to doctors;
10. Assists with the creation of monthly reports for Wexford Health for submission to WVDCR;
12. Undertakes training and continuous professional development in order to keep up to date with the latest techniques.

POSITION SUMMARY

and procedures.
9. Takes vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure).

POSITION SUMMARY

* Evaluates and respond to Corporate Risk Management Department inquiries, complaints or grievances by patients, family members, lawyers or other advocates.

POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Regional Dental Director, a Dentist licensed in the state of West Virginia, responsible and accountable for supervising the dental staff and managing the dental activity as well as for providing oral health care to patients such as fillings, extractions, dentures, root canals, etc.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provides overall supervision of the dental department including hiring, coaching, counseling, administering discipline and termination of subordinate staff as needed.
2. Provides preventative and restorative treatment to all inmates.
3. Performs and interprets radiographic examinations as indicated.
4. Performs all general dentistry services including, but not limited to restorative, surgical, periodontal, endodontic and prosthodontic services as described by West Vriginia Health Service Bulletins.
5. Supervise staff in: cleaning of teeth, making impressions for prosthetic devices, planning and maintaining an oral hygiene program, completing appropriate records accurately and all procedures associated with the provision of dental care.
6. Arrange proper referral for procedures that cannot be performed on-site at facility.
7. Provides supervision of staff in instruction of offenders in preventative practices for maintaining proper oral hygiene.
8. Submit monthly report of Dental Department activities.
9. Participate in staff development programs.
10. Develop and update departmental policies and procedures.
11. Supervise and evaluate all assigned dental staff.
12. Forward all outside referrals of offenders to the Regional Dental Director to assure the necessity for such referrals.

21. Keeps dental licenses up-to-date, and ensure current copy is on file in the Health Care Unit.
22. Must be CPR certified and skilled in recognizing the symptoms of shock and fainting, and must be prepared to provide necessary aid as directed during emergency procedures.
23. Responsible for dental office security to include instrument, medicine and needle counts.
24. Responsible to ensure appropriate and quality orientation for all newly hired dental staff.
25. Notifies the Wexford Health Staffing Department of vacant or upcoming vacant positions in a timely manner and actively assists the Staffing Department in the filling of vacant positions.
26. Is familiar with overtime and commodities budgets and works to remain within budget.
27. Notifies Regional Manager of staffing vacancies.
28. Obtains approval of Wexford Health and WVDOC administration prior to exceeding staffing hours.
29. Strives to ensure 100% compliance of staffing hours.
30. Complies with and enforces Wexford Health/Facility Policy and procedures and ensures subordinate compliance.
31. Member of the Quality Assurance Committee.
32. Receives direction from WVDOC personnel as appropriate, including but not limited to Wardens, Assistant Wardens and HealthServices Administrators.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Health Services Administrator is responsible for effectively and efficiently managing the institution's overall health care delivery system and monitoring all health service contract activities; consulting with the Regional Manager or designee regarding routine institutional issues of an administrative nature, and discussing issues of a complex or unusual clinical nature involving patient management with the Site Medical Director.
* Coordinates and monitors preparation of the institutional health services budget with the Regional Manager and Statewide Director of Operations.
* Supervises requisition of supplies and equipment to ensure appropriate usage and availability; and maintain property and equipment control records as required.
* Assists in developing and maintaining staff schedule in accordance with contract terms of staff coverage. Responsible for making changes in time schedules, and granting special requests for time off, if applicable.
* Approves monthly statistical reports and ensure timely submission; complete all necessary reports on a timely basis.
* Ensures the confidential maintenance and safekeeping of all medical records and information to comply with HIPAA regulations.
* Monitors overall performance utilizing national standards and contract deliverables.
* Performs administrative employee relations functions to include: supervision of performance, recruitment and selection, developing job descriptions, performance management, implementing corrective action and individual development plans, scheduling and approving PTO, etc.
* Supervises scheduling of patients for outside appointments. Reviews initial hospital specialty referrals with the Medical Director to ensure appropriateness and oversee interactions with medical specialists.
* Resolution of audit findings by the development, implementation and monitoring of corrective action plans.
* Evaluates and respond to Corporate Risk Management Department inquiries, complaints or grievances by patients, family members, lawyers or other advocates.
* Works jointly with Clinical and Education staff to ensure that appropriate training in CPR and First Aid is completed per regulatory and contractual requirements.
* Collaborates with co-workers and coordinate internal projects, as directed
* Participates in a company and state approved CQI Program
* Upon receiving the necessary training and/or instruction, performs other related duties as required or assigned
