Job Title: Dermatology Physician Assistant Pariser Dermatology, founded in 1946, is a market leader in the specialty of dermatology. We are seeking a patient-focused Dermatology Physician Assistant to join our growing practice in Williamsburg, VA at our Newtown Office. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality medical care, collaborate closely with our dermatologists, and deliver an exceptional patient experience. Key Responsibilities • Conduct comprehensive dermatologic evaluations, including history, physical examination, diagnosis, and treatment planning. • Manage a wide range of skin conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, rashes, and skin infections. • Perform dermatologic procedures, including (but not limited to) biopsies, cryotherapy, and injections. • Educate patients on diagnoses, treatment plans, medication use, and preventive skin care. • Document all patient encounters accurately and in a timely manner in the electronic medical record (EMR). • Collaborate with supervising dermatologists and clinical staff to maintain high standards of care and operational efficiency. • Maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations, professional standards, and practice protocols. Qualifications • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient-education abilities. • Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. • Interest and willingness to train with a supervising physician for approximately 6 months, with the long-term goal of practicing independently while maintaining strong collaborative relationships with supervising physicians and clinical staff. • Dedication to building lasting patient relationships and supporting the practice's continued growth. Licensure / Certifications / Education • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program. • Current Board Certification. • Active and unrestricted Virginia medical license (or ability to obtain). • 2026 graduates from accredited programs will be considered. University Health Critical Care APP Fellowship The University Health Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Fellowship is a 12-month, postgraduate training program for certified, licensed Acute Care Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants. During their training, fellows will rotate through medical, surgical-trauma, neuro, cardiothoracic and transplant intensive care units, along with various other sub-specialties, exposing them to a multitude of health conditions. Fellows will train alongside APPs and physicians to hone their assessment, diagnosis, and treatment skills specific to the critically ill. /RESPONSIBILITIES Provides primary health care and performs selective medical services under the direction of specialty physicians. Responsible for diagnostic and therapeutic management of patients by completing medical histories, conducting physicals, establishing diagnosis through tests, and formulating treatment plans. Provides follow-up and health maintenance care of patients in accordance with protocols approved by a physician. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Successful Completion of an educational program for physician assistants or surgeon assistants accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, or by that committee's predecessor or successor entities is required. One year of training in the appropriate specialty is required. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants is recommended. Must be currently licensed as a Physician Assistant in the State of Texas. Must maintain current AHA BLS or higher in accordance with Medical-Dental Staff and UMA bylaws. Currently, the group consists of six Board Certified Pediatric Critical Care Physicians. The ideal candidate, MD/DO, will be dual boarded by the American Board of Pediatric Critical Care and Pediatric Cardiology or completed additional fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care. Candidates must have extensive expertise in post-operative management of complex and congenital heart patients. The pediatric critical care unit provides a comprehensive range of services, including ECMO, high frequency ventilation, and CRRT. Our NEW Pavilion which opened in October 2024 has 35 dedicated CICU beds, 2 new CV ORs, and 2 new Cath labs. In 2023 we had 544 Cardiac admissions to the PICU and 193 CV surgical cases.
