Weyerhaeuser, Dodson Lumber mill located in Dodson, LA has an opening for a Quality Control Technician in our Sawmill. This is a full-time job and will be part of our night shift team. All candidates must be safety conscious, self-motivated, possess excellent communication skills and work well with others in a team environment.

Key Functions
Manages and responsible for overall finished Sawmill lumber quality
Responsible for working in and creating a safe environment and culture
Responsible for delivering Key Value Metrics
Responsible for cleaning, calibrate, align, and perform minor maintenance on specific Sawmill related equipment
Responsible for entering and maintaining certain databases.
Routinely performs quality checks beginning at the Mercher and going through the Green Stacker using tools such as tape measure and calipers
Responsible for pulling boards out of the flow to measure for accuracy
Understands process from incoming raw materials through the end point customer
Understands and applies knowledge of optimizing systems
Monitors the quality aspects at each Sawmill machine center
Responsible for compiling and sending shift reports on quality and any related issues.
Monitors performance of Size Check
Works with and effectively communicates with outside agencies and vendors during inspections, audits, and customer visits
Troubleshoots and researches important information to determine the root cause of quality issues and interacts effectively with others to resolve problems
Networks with peers at other Weyerhaeuser sites for peer-to-peer learnings and information sharing's
Works with related support teams to resolve issues.

As a Data Collection & Task Verification Associate, you'll be instrumental in tracking day-to-day operations within our cultivation facility. From logging data on plant care and environmental conditions to ensuring task completion and identifying issues with feeding systems, your role directly impacts the health and performance of our crops.

Collect and log daily data on plant care, environmental conditions, and workflow metrics.
Verify that daily tasks are completed in accordance with SOPs; report any gaps or inconsistencies.
Monitor feedings and watering events; troubleshoot system issues such as clogs, leaks, and pressure irregularities.
Conduct morning and end-of-day walkthroughs to inspect room readiness, plant health, cleanliness, and equipment functionality.
Prepare materials and equipment for resets and room transitions.
Report findings and updates via Slack; collaborate closely with the cultivation leadership team.
Escalate recurring issues to improve long-term processes and outcomes.

Responsible for inspection and evaluation of product returns. Product returns may be a product that has been rejected due to a customer complaint, incorrect product shipped to a customer, etc. Sampling of incoming raw products, ingredients and packaging materials based on the predetermined sampling plans.
Evaluation of collected samples based on Thrive Foods' established specifications and requirements. Review supplier certificates of analysis (COAs) against the Thrive Foods specifications to ensure conformance. Inspection and evaluation of product returns.
Conduct pre-operational inspections on processing equipment via ATP and visual inspections, document results, and work with the sanitation/maintenance teams to ensure compliance prior to production startup.
Perform audits on production lines and products during production runs to ensure conformance to our food safety and quality plans.
Participate in the plant EMP (environmental monitoring program). Conduct swabbing as scheduled.
Communication of non-conformances to upper management. Hold and release products following company's hold and release SOP.
Control and maintenance all QA Sample storage and library of samples to ensure quick retrieval.
Education and Experience:
Two years' experience in field, laboratory, or production facility quality control.
Experience in food manufacturing or food service highly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and effectively to internal and external customers.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Good organizational skills.
Maintain good attendance.
Physical Requirements:
