Key Functions
Manages and responsible for overall finished Sawmill lumber quality
Responsible for working in and creating a safe environment and culture
Responsible for delivering Key Value Metrics
Responsible for cleaning, calibrate, align, and perform minor maintenance on specific Sawmill related equipment
Responsible for entering and maintaining certain databases.
Routinely performs quality checks beginning at the Mercher and going through the Green Stacker using tools such as tape measure and calipers
Responsible for pulling boards out of the flow to measure for accuracy
Understands process from incoming raw materials through the end point customer
Understands and applies knowledge of optimizing systems
Monitors the quality aspects at each Sawmill machine center
Responsible for compiling and sending shift reports on quality and any related issues.
Monitors performance of Size Check
Works with and effectively communicates with outside agencies and vendors during inspections, audits, and customer visits
Troubleshoots and researches important information to determine the root cause of quality issues and interacts effectively with others to resolve problems
Networks with peers at other Weyerhaeuser sites for peer-to-peer learnings and information sharing's
Works with related support teams to resolve issues.
Must participate in occasional conference calls
High School Diploma or equivalent
3 years' experience in a lumber manufacturing facility
Ability to work safely and practice all company safety policies and procedures
Must be a self-starter and able to work independently
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
Ability to learn grade rules
Strong computer skills (Office products)
Able to work independently and make decisions based on data and statistical information
Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to perform basic mechanical needs
Able to perform basic mathematical functions
Must have a good understanding of electrical and computer systems along with an understanding of computer communication systems.
Must possess good electrical troubleshooting skills and able to use a multimeter.
Willing to work Saturdays/Sundays if needed to perform QC related functions on machine centers
Must be flexible with work schedule and able to work any shift, weekends, overtime, holidays as needed
Able to perform all essentials functions of an industrial environment, which may include lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing steps, working from heights,
standing or walking for 2-3 hours at a time for 10 hours or more, working in extreme temperatures, dust, and noise while wearing all safety equipment.

Responsibilities and Job Functions
Quality
Determines and develops measurement methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings, models, and diagrams.
Provides written reports on measurement results comparing to standards.
Prepares technical reports summarizing findings.
Assists in the selection and set-up of specialized measurement equipment including laser scanners and CMM
Program, set up and operate CMM in order to make complex, precise measurements of materials and parts
Verify conformance of parts to specifications and blueprints with respect to measurements
Write and modify existing programs and create new ones as required
Performs detailed first article inspections of prototype and production parts.
Provides support for investigations of issues and development work
Assist Engineers, Technicians, and Customers with qualification and validation of new or revised parts or tooling
Interpret measurement output data and graphic data
Summarizes results and communicates them to engineering and others as needed
Change Request (CR): Participate and make recommendations for continuous improvement by submitting CR's.
Deviations: Initiates deviations for individual parts, assemblies or machines when it is applicable.
Non-conformities: Initiate by completing the information required on the appropriate form pertinent to the (Red Tag's & Rework Sheets) issue identified. Evaluates and dispositions non-conforming parts as deemed necessary.
Troubleshoot and contact outside technical support services for CMM/Polyworks software as needed.

Essential Skills
Education and Experience
Prefer a two-year Technical Degree/Diploma in a field related.
Computer Knowledge: Must be knowledgeable of computer systems and pertinent software. MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Prefer Knowledge in Specific Software: Polyworks, Creo (or other solid modeling software), SAP.
Must be able to interpret production blueprints, prefer certification in GD&T.
Precision Measuring Equipment: Prefer ability to demonstrate effective use of precision measuring tools and/or equipment. Including Faro Arm and CMM measuring tools.
3-6 years of experience in manufacturing or office environment.
Must have the ability to train others.

Calibrate tools and equipment. Perform technical special projects and assignments. Train and cross-train.
Perform and record regulatory, SSOP, SOP, and Quality Attribute testing and checks; communicate results to management.
Coordinate time management to perform tasks, participate in training and development to increase competency and commitment.
Follow all Company safety regulations and S.O.P.s, as well as support Goal Zero mission statement.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
1+ year of manufacturing experience preferred.

Respond to inquiries regarding quality records and documentation.

Identify and report problems affecting food safety or product quality.
Stop or control further processing or distribution of nonconforming products until issues are resolved.

Support the Hold Program, including tracking, inventory reconciliation, and processing hold transfers.
Generate daily reports related to hold inventory and shipments.
Conduct physical inventories of product in hold locations.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
