KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE DIRECTOR, RELIABILITY
The Director, Reliability will provide leadership on electric power industry reliability and security issues, particularly those matters related to the development and enforcement of mandatory reliability standards by the North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC), as regulated by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) under the Energy Policy Act of 2005.
Other important responsibilities of the DIRECTOR, RELIABILITY include:
Plan, organize, and lead of EEI Reliability Technical Committee. Responsibilities include establishing an agenda of key NERC issues, identifying and coordinating with subject matter experts to participate in the discussion, increasing engagement, and meeting facilitation.
Analyze and draft comments on NERC Reliability Standards, guidelines, and other NERC related documents and activities, drive consensus positions, maintain a tracker of all NERC activities, and ensure timely submittal of EEI comments.
Provide technical support and assist in the development of EEI comments for FERC rulemakings and proceedings.
Monitor NERC standards drafting activities to identify potential concerns with direction early in the drafting process.
Coordinate member voting positions on the various NERC Committee agenda items.
Provide effective leadership and support to external reliability related initiatives.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering is required.
A minimum of 10 years of direct relevant experience for a Director OR a minimum of 8 years for Senior Manager level.
Knowledge of the NERC industry standard development process.
Understanding of transmission and distribution system operations or cyber and physical security of the electric grid.
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse sets of internal and external stakeholders to build consensus.
Able to manage time effectively, prioritize workload, and multi-task while maintaining attention to detail, strong written and verbal communications skills.
Strong research and fact-finding skills.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook) required.
Occasional travel required for EEI-hosted events, industry conferences, and external engagement less than 20%.

COMPENSATION
The salary range for this role is $130,000-$175,000. If hired at a Senior Manager level, the salary range is $100,000 - $150,000. Starting annual salary will be determined on individual qualifications. The Site Director provides executive leadership for the multi-billion-dollar Extended Power Uprate (EPU) project at Perry. Accountable for all site activities across engineering, licensing, procurement, construction, and operations, the Site Director ensures safe, high-quality, and timely execution of more than 100 major modifications. This role is responsible for aligning site execution with Vistra's corporate strategy, NRC requirements, and fleet governance, while serving as the primary interface with EPC partners, OEMs, regulators, and senior leadership. Key Accountabilities
Lead implementation of major plant modifications that enhance safety, improve operational efficiency, and resolve long-standing equipment reliability issues across a multi-billion-dollar scope.
Apply deep technical understanding of nuclear plant programs, processes, and procedures to guide execution of highly complex engineering and construction activities.
Demonstrate recognized professional standing and thought leadership through original contributions to nuclear plant uprate projects and industry forums.
Exhibit clear and logical decision-making in high-stress situations, managing complex technical problems while directing a multi-discipline team of professionals.
Advise, negotiate, and resolve conflicts with internal and external stakeholders; effectively interface with major EPC contractors and industry partners to support both operating and outage activities.
Inspire and motivate managers and project managers to achieve excellence in safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
Foster a culture that values diversity, inclusion, and collaboration across all levels of the project team.
Represent Vistra in INPO and other industry project management forums, ensuring alignment with best practices and continuous improvement benchmarks.
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
15+ years in the nuclear power industry with increasing responsibility in project management, engineering, licensing, procurement, contract management, and nuclear operations. Minimum 7-10 years of leadership on large-scale capital projects (> $1B), including Extended Power Uprates or new nuclear construction.
Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of NRC regulations, INPO standards, and nuclear licensing processes, with current knowledge of the U.S. electricity industry and competitive energy markets.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Nuclear, Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical preferred). Advanced degree in Engineering, Business, or Project Management desirable.
Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
Additional Requirements: Proven track record of executive-level stakeholder engagement, regulatory interface, and successful delivery of complex nuclear projects with >100 major modifications.

Schedule Performance - On-time completion of EPU milestones and outage deliverables with no downstream delays.
