Job Responsibilities:

Role Overview
We are seeking a Process Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting Lithium Americas' efforts in safely and effectively building, commissioning, and operating the sulfuric acid plant and lithium processing facilities at Thacker Pass. This position plays a key role in providing technical process engineering support to plant operations, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient performance across chemical processing systems and unit operations associated with sulfuric acid production and lithium processing.
The Process Engineer will serve as a technical resource to the Thacker Pass processing facility, supporting operations, troubleshooting process issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills, a proven track record of problem solving, and familiarity with sulfuric acid production and chemical processing equipment. This role will help maintain and continuously improve operating practices that support stewardship, safety, quality, and overall plant performance.
The role is based at our Winnemucca, NV office and reports to the Site Engineering Manager. Occasional travel to other Lithium Americas offices, business units, engineering partners, or vendor locations may be required.
Responsibilities
* Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities for the Thacker Pass Sulfuric Acid Plant and Lithium Processing Facility in coordination with the Commissioning and Start-Up team
* Provide day-to-day process engineering support to Operations, assisting with troubleshooting and optimization of equipment and processes
* Investigate operational issues using process data and trends from the DCS historian
* Develop and manage capital projects that improve safety, throughput, and efficiency in the processing plant

The Nexus Water Group team has an opportunity for a Project Manager - Utilities. The Project Manager oversees all water and wastewater utility construction projects from initial contract negotiations through warranty termination for 4 branch companies of Great Basin Water Co. located in NV. The Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating, planning, and directing various activities associated with the projects ensuring that they are completed by job specification, on schedule and within budget. Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless utility service.
Work Location and Schedule
This position will be based in Pahrump, NV. Up to 25% of time travel for training, meetings and project management.
What You'll Do
* Oversees complex technical projects, adhering to strict goals and deadlines.
* Creates and maintains activity and progress reports for internal and external customers.
* Responsible for all project development.
* Hires, directs, evaluates and disciplines Construction Inspectors.
* Obtains engineering proposals, monitors project budgets, construction activity and coordinates timing with operations.
* Tracks all budget related information, such as hours worked and expenses, etc.
* Coordinates all daily activities and personnel for each project.
* Processes paperwork, including invoices, for each project in a timely manner and submits to operations leadership.
* Ensures the success of projects, while remaining in line with time and budget parameters.
* Notifies management staff of any current or pending escalations relating to projects, or items that could impact the success of projects.
* Coordinates and completes the work necessary to obtain approval on emergency projects.
* Constant, independent travel daily between worksites on Company time.
What You'll Bring
Experience
* Requires a minimum of 3 years engineering experience, preferably related to water and/or wastewater projects and design.
* Two or more years' experience in water and wastewater utility operation and/or design, including distribution infrastructure, storage tank and wastewater treatment plant construction.
Education and Licenses
* Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or similar field required
* Must maintain a valid driver's license
Nice to have
* Nevada Water Treatment Operator Grade III Certificate preferred.
* Possession of an American Water Works Association (AWWA) Grade I Distribution Systems Certificate preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Must be able to calculate basic geometric equations.
* Ability to read and interpret soil and hydro-geological reports and maps.
