The Designer position responsible for operating with minimal supervision while completing project designs and submittals. Expected to be very familiar with SFS's quality documents, procedures, and work instructions as they related to the design function. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: Design automatic sprinkler systems including fire pumps, tanks, wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems using working knowledge of fire sprinkler codes. Perform hydraulic calculations for each design. Prepare submittal packages to send to (AHJ) Authority Having Jurisdiction and subsequent correspondence to achieve design approval. Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing as it related to individual parts and overall assemblies (ASME Y145). Experience with model meshing and analysis. Experience in CAD working with Siemens NX/Teamcenter. Experience with EOSPRINT, Concept Laser WRX or other equivalent 3D Printing software. Skills and Abilities Familiarity with DMLM printing machines. Strong follow-through and self-starting nature. Role Classification and Working Conditions This is an hourly, non-exempt-level position. This position typically works in a production/assembly/engineering lab environment. Overtime may be required.
