Job Description
This position requires daily travel to locations in and around the Cleveland Metro area, including the airport.
Troubleshoots, services, installs (deploys) and repairs Trace, X-Ray, CT X-Ray and Cargo Inspection equipment at customer sites. Maintains fieldservice log and filing system to properly initiate, organize and maintain all fieldservice and job files until work is completed Demonstrates initiative and dedication through positive use of downtime and an overall willingness and eagerness to consistently exceed customer and company requirements. Conducts follow up calls with the customer to ensure satisfaction of work.
Responsible for meeting daily service repair needs and driving customer satisfaction
Foster positive customer relations and a high degree of customer satisfaction by communicating effectively with customers.
Installs, repairs and maintains equipment in the field; provides customer training as required.
Must be able to respond to emergency and non-scheduled calls for service within established response time goals.
Completes all scheduled maintenance within required deadlines. Documents all inspections, maintenance, repair work and submits paperwork in a timely basis
Order, install, and return parts and manages repair parts cycle time
Maintains an accurate inventory of parts and tools.
Maintains currency on all technical certifications.
Reviews all logs for open issues and prepares formal reports to customers as necessary.
Participates in Service Sales opportunities and assists with promoting and implementing revenue programs.
Looks to senior level FSTs for knowledge growth and support when needed.
Ensures that tools and test equipment are properly maintained and calibrated
Assesses product/equipment performance based on field support data; recommends modifications or improvements.
Seeks to provide technical support to customers and other service professionals as required.
May participate in site surveys, pilot program service activities, attend meetings, champion special projects and prepare exclusive reports.
Possesses a solid level of technical knowledge on the company's Trace and X-Ray technologies.
Maintains clear and concise business communication proficiency, both oral and written
Establishes and maintains a close relationship with senior level FST's and Product Managers in order to support the needs of the customer and remain aware of current technical trends.
Exercises every available measure to control and minimize costs while maximizing revenue
Must submit expenses, time cards and other administrative tasks within the specified timelines.
Travel, overtime and work hours other than Monday-Friday may be required.
Comply with and ensure department compliance with Company health, safety and environmental policies.
Comply with all applicable U.S. export control and security regulations.

Qualifications
Education/Training:
Associate's Degree/Related Trade Certification (electrical, electronic, mechanical)/Military Training (electrical, mechanical, electronics). (Equivalence achieved through comparative work and life experience of 1-3 years is acceptable work experience in a related electrical or mechanical fieldservice role). Computer literacy; competency in use of all programs within MS Office Suite and aptitude for learning specialized software programs.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years experience directly involved in troubleshooting and field repair of electrical and electronic systems and equipment.
Knowledge/Skills:
Individuals shall possess excellent communications skills and have a strong orientation for customer focus and teamwork. Must be responsive to all customer issues at all times. Must be willing & able to travel at short notice.
Supervises:
While supervision is not considered a primary responsibility of this position, there may be instances where supervision of others on a project basis may be required
Background:
This position may require Sensitive Security Information (SSI) access and vetting via the TSA. If required, applicant must successfully pass a federal background investigation. This position may require a U.S. Personal Security Clearance.

As a FieldService Engineer [Customer Engineer] at Applied Materials, you serve as the direct liaison with customers, collaborating closely to install, maintain, and upgrade equipment. Responsibilities
Lead deployments of Kargo's computer vision devices.
Collaborate with clients to ensure sites are deployment‑ready, which may include removing existing equipment, electrical work, and/or network adjustments.
Full ownership of all aspects of system bring‑up, troubleshooting, emergency repairs, preventative maintenance, and spare parts inventory.
Travel to client sites to conduct repairs, maintenance, and training as needed. Greater than 70% travel may be required in the future, depending on customer growth and needs.
Onboard and coordinate 3rd party technicians for simple onsite repairs and maintenance.
Develop documentation such as SOPs, work instructions, user manuals, FAQs, training plans, and other materials that will optimize system uptime.
Maintain a high level of customer service with excellent verbal and written communication.
Create status reports, dashboards, and any other analyses to maintain alignment with internal and external stakeholders.
Partner with internal engineering teams to enhance the scalability and dependability of all products.
Experience
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (engineering, robotics, computer science, etc).
3‑5 years experience servicing and maintaining complex electro‑mechanical systems (sensors and optics a plus).
3‑5 years experience interfacing with customers.
Familiarity with command line interface on PCs, especially Linux.
Experience using Jira Service Management to track, report, and manage issues.
Experience troubleshooting WIFI and LTE connected devices.
Comfortable working in industrial environments and working at height. Must be able to lift 50lbs, climb ladders (pending OSHA requirements).
Familiarity with basic hand tools and power tools (hammer drills, torque wrenches, multimeters, etc).

This position will report to the Service Manager. The responsibilities of the ServiceTechnician are to service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration systems and equipment. Diagnosing malfunctions and determining repair needs, inspecting, and performing tests on systems and equipment for defective parts and to assure proper functioning.
Essential Job Function
Customer Service
Always present a professional positive and helpful attitude when interacting with customers and co-workers. Exhibit an understanding of Human Relations and functions as a “team player”.
This position has frequent contact with customers, requiring reasonable tact and strong verbal/written communication skills.
Observe additional maintenance needs requiring attention and report to the appropriate people.
Basic Functions/Requirements
Read and write English.

Read a tape measure, perform basic math skills: (Add, Subtract, Fractions, Calculate sales tax)
Must have valid Michigan drivers' licenses, good driving record (our insurance must accept you)
Paperwork filled out properly daily, including electronic documentation, if applicable.

Follow all safety rules.
Be able to wear all P.P.E's when applicable (steel toe boots, gloves, safety glasses, hard hat, etc.)
Lift, climb, bend, and kneel to complete assigned tasks.
Tolerate working at heights off a ladder, scaffold, and aerial lifts.
Perform heavy physical labor during adverse weather conditions.
Work in confined spaces, exposed to fumes, chemicals, grease, acids, oil and in the vicinity of noise and vibration with proper P.P.E's.
Maintain cooperative and effective working relationship with others.
Be able to take “on call” in the regular rotation.
Be available to work any time of the day to take care of your customer. (Before 8:00 am and after 5:00 pm during the week, any time weekends, and holidays)
4 hours safety training required annually.
Must have refrigerant transition and recovery certification card.
Continuing education is expected.
Education/Experience
High school diploma or GED preferred.
10+ Years' experience preferred.
Work Coordination and Paperwork
Coordinate start and stop time with Service Dispatcher for each call.
Organize all work detail (work performed, service recommendations, etc.) and complete an accurate work ticket, paper or electronic, for billing and payroll purposes. Submit all paperwork to the office each Monday before 10:00 AM or at end of each month is required.
Obtain record on work ticket and communicate to vendor an appropriate purchase order number when purchasing job-related parts and supplies.
Physical Requirements
Climbing (ladders, stairs, etc.) while carrying tools and parts
Lift 50 lbs. frequently, 100 lbs. occasionally, and 100+ lbs. with assistance
