Receive lab/x-ray order requisitions from staff and makes sure they are filled out completely and correctly with name, date of birth, EMR number, tests/procedures to be done, doctor name, and diagnosis. Prepares requisitions to be sent to billing department. Uses basic mathematics to tally workload counts, checks monthly laboratory billing for accuracy. Performs standard screens and transfer all calls, take complete messages, place calls as directed. Explain credit policy, indicate chart location, explain credit policy to new patients, refer bad credit or overdue account to credit department. Schedule all appointments at physician/nurse direction. Verify patient information, notify nurse of patient arrival, note time of arrival on fee ticket.
