POSITION PURPOSE
Reporting to the AVP of Facilities Services, the Sustainability Manager works closely with students, staff, and faculty to further sustainability efforts across campus and manages the initiatives and operations of the Sustainability Department.
The role serves as the primary resource for all College sustainability initiatives, as well as the College's sustainability liaison to external stakeholders. The Manager assists departments with the integration of sustainable practices and energy-saving measures in their day-to-day operations and collaborates on long-term sustainability strategies for Whitman College.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Develop, plan, and administer programs, initiatives and events related to sustainability in coordination with other community organizations and College divisions, departments, and student organizations.
Supervise staff, student assistant and interns in Whitman College's Sustainability Department.
Act as staff liaison and advisor to student organizations, ensuring collaboration on sustainability initiatives, programs, and projects.
Oversee the College's recycling program and zero-waste initiatives. Assist in managing energy and sustainability projects and campus energy management programs.
Maintain College utility records, analyze data, and provide emissions reports. Collaborate with utility providers to optimize pricing and schedules for meeting sustainability goals.
Manage the maintenance and development of campus renewable energy systems and sub-metering in collaboration with Facilities Services.
Chair the President's Sustainability Advisory Committee (PSAC), working closely with the committee to implement the Campus Sustainability Plan and advocate for College-wide sustainability goals.
Support the development and management of the Energy Renewal Development and Decarbonization Plan (ERDP).
Manage the College's Bike Share program and promote alternative transportation methods to reduce emissions.
Develop sustainability awareness and educational programs for the campus and surrounding community.
Develop regular reports and educational material related to student, staff, and faculty commuting and transportation. Assess the College's transportation needs and emissions. Work with departments, the motor pool, and Facilities Services to address resource conservation in relation to transportation.
Develop and implement new sustainability awareness and education programs for campus and community.
Serve as the College's sustainability representative to various organizations, such as the Washington Higher Education Sustainability Coalition, and manage reporting to entities like AASHE STARS and the EPA Green Power Partnership.
Pursue grant and resource development opportunities for sustainability projects.
Collaborate on campus construction projects to align with the Campus Sustainability Plan.
Coordinate the Sustainability Revolving Loan Fund and support decarbonization strategies.
Oversee the Sustainability Department's communications and social media channels, producing periodic progress reports.
Develop long-term goals and performance metrics for the College's sustainability efforts, providing regular evaluation and reporting.
Manage the EcoReps peer-to-peer education program, overseeing recruitment, training, and ongoing support for student leaders promoting sustainability across campus.
Independently research best practices and compile data to prepare reports that require thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and activities.
Serve as essential personnel, meaning duties are essential to the operations of the College and may require that the position report to campus for work even during full or partial closures.
May be required to work occasional evenings and/or weekends.
May be required to travel off-campus for events, meetings, and other activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in a sustainability-related discipline AND a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
Experience implementing sustainability initiatives at a college or university, business, governmental agency or similar public or private institution.
Experience preparing Sustainability Tracking Assessment and Rating System (STARS) submittals, GHG inventories and related Carbon/Climate Commitment reports, or similar sustainability-related surveys and periodic reports. This may include regulatory reporting.
Administrative and organizational skills, and demonstrated experience supervising and mentoring.
Valid driver's license with 3 years of driving experience, and the ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in a related discipline AND 4-5 years of relevant experience.
Other relevant subject matter expertise, education, training or professional certifications in addition to the above-referenced degrees.
Web development experience and experience writing, producing and editing sustainability progress reports, newsletters, blogs and/or social media posts.
LEED Credentials.
Work experience in higher education.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The work environment is primarily indoors within Whitman College facilities, with occasional work outdoors, which may include exposure to varying weather conditions and work in high places. This position may be exposed to dirt, dust, and equipment use during certain tasks. The role involves both desk work, requiring long periods of sitting, and physical activity. Extended use of a computer is expected, along with frequent desk-based administrative tasks.
Job duties require moderate strength and agility, including balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions. Lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 40 pounds occurs with varied frequency. Occasionally, the role may require physical exertion during events, projects, or outdoor tasks.

POSITION PURPOSE
The On Call Security Officer fills shifts as needed, serving in an on call capacity often on nights and weekends. The On Call Security Officer supports the program of Security at Whitman College by patrolling the campus during the designated shift and dealing with emergency situations and potentially uncooperative people in a calm, responsible manner. This is a temporary position.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1) Patrol and inspect the buildings and grounds to maintain security from fire, theft, illegal entry, property damage, or unauthorized use of buildings. Maintain security log during shift.
2) Respond to emergency situations using good judgment about approaching subjects or contacting the police.
3) Ensure that doors and windows are locked. Reports needed repairs and safety hazards to the proper authority.
4) Ensure fire alarms and burglar alarms are in proper working condition.
5) Supervise student security personnel during designated shift.
6) Perform first aid care when needed.
7) Adhere to safety rules and precautions in all phases of the work and while driving College vehicles. Identify potential safety hazards and reports them to appropriate people.
8) Always carry required equipment furnished by Department while on shift.

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will work on a NSF-funded project investigating the "Effects of Traffic Noise on Avian Cognition."
The postdoc will work collaboratively with principal investigator Dr. Chris Templeton and graduate and undergraduate students at Western Washington University. The research integrates local field research and laboratory experiments investigating the effect of noise pollution on cognitive processing in songbirds.

The Western Gallery, the contemporary art museum at Western Washington University, engages its regional audience with exhibitions, public programs, gallery encounters, and more. About the Position Western Washington University seeks a dynamic leader to oversee all aspects of the Western Gallery and Outdoor Sculpture Collection. The Director will collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and community partners to create engaging programming that fosters dialogue and learning across disciplines. Additionally, the Director will manage budgets, secure funding through grants and fundraising initiatives, and engage with key stakeholders to promote the gallery's mission and enhance its visibility. Reporting to the Dean of the College of Fine and Performing Arts ("CFPA"), the Director will serve as the primary advocate for the gallery's programs and represent the university in regional and national arts networks.
Manages all aspects of the Western Gallery including budget, strategic planning, and general operations;
Position Duties and Responsibilities
* Recruits, trains, supervises and evaluates gallery staff including Preservation and Museum Specialist and Museum Educator, and works with the staff to oversee work study students and gallery interns.
* Provides artistic direction, exhibition development, and additional programming for the Western Gallery. The Director will also provide or oversee interpretive texts and promotional materials for all gallery activities.
* Oversees all aspects of the Outdoor Sculpture Collection including siting, maintenance, new commissions, and public awareness
* Manages the university's collections which includes research, documentation, procuring legal documents, and oversees the registration of new works
* Works with WWU capital planning staff, state legislators and the State of Washington Art in Public Places Program to secure half percent art funding on new construction
* Collaborates with faculty and staff from College of Fine and Performing Arts ("CFPA") academic programs to integrate the gallery into the core mission of those programs
* Forms and chairs ad hoc artist selection committees for new commissions
* Chairs and works with Acquisition/Deaccessioning Committee to review (portable) works for addition to the Western Gallery Collection
Required Qualifications
* Master's Degree in a relevant field and at least five years of progressive leadership experience in museum or gallery curation, management, and/or direction
* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with experience supervising and mentoring staff, volunteers, and student workers and a commitment to fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment
* Experience with public art and outdoor sculpture, including expertise in curating, conservation, and maintenance of site-specific works and knowledge of environmental and material preservation challenges
* Proven track record of curating, producing, and publicizing impactful exhibitions and multidisciplinary programming that engage diverse audiences
* Demonstrated expertise in securing external funding through successful grant writing, donor cultivation, sponsorships, and effective financial and operational budget management
* Experience overseeing and stewarding permanent, temporary, and circulating collections, including acquisitions, cataloging, and conservation

POSITION PURPOSE
The Assistant/Associate Controller for Sources is responsible for managing and administering the operations of Student Accounts, Accounts Receivable, Trust and Endowments, Student Loans, and Off-Campus Rentals activities. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Finance Operations & Oversight (50%). In connection with Whitman College's current fund and its ongoing operations, the Associate Controller for Sources works to support the following functions and activities in the Office of Accounting and Business Services (ABS):
Internal Controls: Recommend strategies to the AVP for designing, implementing, and maintaining an effective system of internal controls to prevent and detect fraud and/or errors while safeguarding the College's revenue and cash.
Processes and Procedures:
Advise the AVP on designing, implementing, and maintaining an effective accounting system for the College's revenue, ensuring accuracy, clarity, consistency, reliability, timeliness, and efficiency. Strive to promote a paperless process and leverage technology when available. Prepare office policies and procedures as needed and ensure they are clear, concise, and well-documented.
Student Accounts: Serve as backup to the Manager of Student Accounts and collaborate with the Student Financial Aid Office regarding scholarships awarded to students.
Financial Reporting: Prepare and coordinate financial reports and analyses as requested by internal and external users, including financial data, IPEDS and other survey requests.
Legal Compliance: Develop and maintain expertise in Department of Education regulations for Perkins loans and student financial aid.
Supervision: Oversee staff and daily operations of the student accounts functions within the Office of Accounting and Business Services, including accounts receivable and student loans. Direct reports include the Student Accounts Manager, an Accounting Specialist focused on student accounts and accounts receivable, and an Accounting
Specialist dedicating 25% of their time to nonresident alien tax work.
Audit: Support the AVP in preparing audit workpapers related to the College's receivables and revenue, ensuring compliance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America (U.S. GAAP). Maintain an effective working relationship with independent auditors.
Budget: Assist the AVP and Budget Manager in preparing the annual budget and managing the budget close process.
Tax Compliance: Support the AVP with tax reporting and related tax matters concerning the College's revenue. Assist in ,implementing processes to track and report taxable transactions, including unrelated business income taxes, excise taxes, and nonresident alien withholding taxes. Responsible for preparing annual Forms 1098-T and 1042-S.
Farm and Rental Properties (25%) and Endowment Investments (25%). In connection with the College's trust, the Associate Controller for Sources works to support the following functions and activities in the Office of Accounting and Business Services (ABS):
Trust Property Management:
Oversee staff and daily operations of off-campus rental properties functions in ABS. Direct reports include the
Trust Accountant, Rental Property Manager and an Accounting Specialist dedicating 75% of their time to trust accounting and rental property work. Collaborate with the Director of Investments on the accounting and reporting of the College's trust rental and farm properties. Record transactions related to the acquisition or disposition of trust rental or farm properties.
Investments: Work closely with the Director of Investments and support the AVP in recording quarterly income, expenses, and fair market value adjustments for the College's investments. Annually record adjustments per the Kaspick valuation reports for the College's CRUTs, CRATs, and split-interest agreements. Prepare related required note disclosures for the College's audited financial statements.
Gifts & Donor Restrictions: Partner with the Director of Investments and Budget Manager to calculate and record the College's annual endowment payout for budget preparation. Collaborate with the Development Office to record gifts and track donor restrictions for the College's endowment and net assets. Annually calculate the net present value for pledges receivable for audit purposes.
Legal Compliance: Ensure compliance with all pertinent governmental and oversight agencies, such as timely filing of charitable registrations. Manage required reporting with the Office of the Insurance Commissioner and oversee the audit process every five years to maintain the College's exempt status for conducting Charitable Gift Annuity business in the Washington State.
Tax Compliance: Maintain the property tax exemption status for rental properties with the State of Washington, ensuring eligibility based on whether tenants are students or employees.

About the Position
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders maintains a vacancy pool of qualified persons interested in temporary Audiology clinical educator positions. * Analyze data to determine the nature and severity of hearing, auditory, or vestibular impairment or loss to plan and manage aural habilitative and rehabilitative services for clients/patients.
* Develop treatment programs under the general supervision of university faculty and with the cooperation of physicians, speech pathologists, psychologists, social workers, physical and occupational therapists, counselors, and classroom teachers; assist members of multi-disciplinary teams in setting diagnosis and therapy priorities and participate as a member of that team.
* Provides non-medical rehabilitation services to persons when appropriate, including hearing aid selection, fitting and training procedures, use of auditory training equipment, application of audiometry training, speech reading, and counseling procedures, and preventative hearing conservation measures.
* Maintain appropriate productivity and efficient time management to ensure adequate provision of direct clinical services and supervision of clinical practice experience for students.

About the Position The Assistant Director of Residence Life position is a full-time, FLSA exempt, 12-month appointment within university residences reporting to the Director of Residence Life. This position assists the Director of Residence Life as one of the primary professionals on the leadership team for the residence life program, and is directly responsible for residential education, community development, and administrative processes for a campus community of approximately of 4,300 residential students in revenue generating spaces representing approximately $40 million in annual self-support revenue. As a member of the central leadership team in residence life, duties include mission and vision planning including implementation at various levels in the department, budget planning and management, ensuring effective collaboration with campus partners, leading staff selection and training processes, and providing leadership to all residence life staff to foster and assess student development. Staff Supervision, Selection, Training, and Performance Evaluation

* Serve in place of Director of Residence Life on a rotating basis when the Director is out of office

* Lead efforts on designated residence life initiatives including campus-wide partnerships and collaborative projects.

* Chair multiple committees within residence life on major operations such as training, recruitment and selection, equity and inclusion, and resident education.

* Exercise signature authority for programming boards and staff programming budgets totaling $100,000 annually. Provide training and supervision to resident directors as they develop and execute programming budgets and advise student groups. Directly manage committee budgets for the recruitment and training of staff.
* Represent University Residences and Residence life with external stakeholders and exercise independent judgment in responding to and following up on stakeholder feedback and concerns, such as: inquiries from parents/families and the public related to incidents (e.g. student crisis, student misconduct, roommate conflicts) within parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
On-Call / After-Hours Responsibility
* Serve in Residence Life leadership on-call rotation, serving as after-hours decision-maker for Residence Life emergencies/crises and supervisor for professional Residence Directors and Assistant Residence Directors on-call.
* Provide immediate support and direction for student and professional staff responding to emergency situations such as suicidal behaviors/ideation, sexual harassment, sexual assault, eating disorders, depression, physical assault, domestic violence, anger management, alcohol and drug abuse/dependency/overdose, or psychotic episodes.
* Provide leadership for professional and student staff in providing supportive response to individuals and communities affected by serious or large-scale incidents such as moving a student to interim housing, deciding if a student is able to remain in the residence hall system, arranging for group or individual crisis counseling, and contacting parents.
* Maintain strong liaison relationships with a variety of university resources including, but not limited to, Office of Student Life, Civil Rights and Title IX Compliance, Survivor Advocacy Services, Multicultural Center, Ethnic Student Center, Disability Access Center, University Conduct Officer, the Student Health Center, Counseling, Health, and Wellness, University Police, Student Outreach Services, Academic Advising, the Tutoring Center, and New Student and Family Outreach Services.
* Notify directors and/or higher administration of incidents that are media worthy, involve significant harm/risk to safety to the residential campus student and staff community.
Student Conduct and CARE
* Under direction of Director of Residence Life and in coordination with Assistant Director of Residence Life of Care and Conduct, provide leadership and vision for conduct process and care interventions
* Provide training, guidance, and support for resident directors as they implement the conduct process, including hearings, conduct decisions, and educational sanctioning.
* Hear conduct appeals from residents, typically in high-level conduct cases (i.e. violations related to drugs, alcohol, or physical/verbal assault).
* Provide training, guidance and support to staff following up on a wide range of care-related situations (homesickness, mental health challenges, roommate challenges, etc.)

The Role:
The Head Softball Coach will be responsible for the overall management of the CWU Softball program. Depending on qualifications and areas of expertise, incumbent will serve as the position coach for specific areas, but will be responsible for the overall program success. The Head Coach is responsible for creating an overall positive and championship environment for all student-athletes of the softball program.
These duties include but are not limited to coaching; recruitment and retention of student athletes; facilitation and management of home games; competition scheduling; travel arrangements; equipment management; general field maintenance; fiscal planning and budget management; public relations; hiring, supervising and evaluating assistants; and maintaining a positive and professional relationship with students, athletes, alumni, donors, media, and fans.

* Responsible for creating an overall positive and championship environment for the student-athletes of the softball program.

Program Oversight
* Plan and evaluate practice activities for the softball team members. Review practice plans with assistant coaches to coordinate workloads and periodization.
* Work collaboratively with other members of the CWU staff to integrate efforts and maximize holistic development of student-athletes.
* Supervise and hire staff, establish job performance standards, evaluate job performance, take corrective action, assign and schedule work, and act upon leave requests.
Recruitment
* Develop and execute a plan to recruit student-athletes of high character who have the athletic talent to compete at the collegiate varsity level with the academic aptitude to earn a degree.
* Meet with prospective students and their family members both on- and off-campus.
* Foster and nurture relationships with scholastic and non-scholastic programs to ensure successful recruiting.
Budget Management
* Plan yearly budgets; make recommendations to the administration.
* Coordinate all program travel in line with university and department policies.
* Account for all expenditures and monitor spending including travel, equipment, recruiting, and office expenses.

The CSEL Graduate Programs Specialist is responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating operations for our graduate programs (Residency/Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT), Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Administration, and Higher Education) in the Curriculum, Supervision, and Educational Leadership department, with primary focus on the Residency/Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program.
