    WAGE RANGE: $20.00-$28.00 The Irrigation Specialist, under supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent, is responsible for the programming, operation, installation and maintenance of the golf course irrigation system. In the Superintends absence, assumes responsibility to grounds maintenance staff. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Irrigate greens, tees and fairways. Manually irrigates dry areas needing additional water. Repairs the irrigation system, pipes and irrigation heads as needed Maintains and repairs irrigation controllers, valves, pumps and coordinates arrangements for periodic service by professional tradesman. Maintain accurate, organized supply and inventory records, and prepare supply orders as needed for Superintendent's approval. Will supervise special projects, including supervising small labor force, and will be Acting Superintendent in the absence of Superintendent. Repairs greens, tees and fairways. Grades and prepares soil base, lays sod, and seed to greens, tees and fairways. Operates dump trucks, and other light equipment in hauling and removing debris. Report any irregularities in course turf quality to the superintendent. Comply with regulatory laws, employee handbook, department policy and procedures, safety codes, etc. Promotes a clean, safe and healthy work environment for employees and guest. Promptly reports all concerns to Supervisor. Ensure that operation of equipment, tools and materials are handled in a safe manner. Knowledge of tools, methods and materials used in grounds and landscape maintenance. Possess a valid driver's license with no history of motor vehicle-related citation or arrest conviction(s) within the last five (5) years in any state per WRC insurance requirements. Ability to operate light motorized equipment. Physically fit: able to bend, lift and maneuver 50 lbs., work in inclement weather, extensive use of back, arms, hands and legs.
