* Plan, coordinate, and conduct large-scale data collection efforts, including big game classifications, involving multiple field personnel. Lead analyses using population data for game animals, including but not limited to information on population size and trend, herd ratios, distribution, movement and migration patterns, field checks of harvested animals, and mortality factors. Lead the coordination and development of hunting seasons designed to move animal populations toward established objectives, including the understanding and incorporation of public feedback. * Develop initial comments and recommendations for regional wildlife environmental reviews regarding projects from county governments, state and federal agencies, and private landowners. Project recommendations are developed to minimize impacts to wildlife populations by recommending alternatives and mitigation.
* Represent the WGFD at public meetings. Develop and maintain effective working relations by communicating and coordinating with private landowners, state and local governmental agencies, project proponents, and NGOs to effectively communicate WGFD programs and policies. Present programs to civic and sportsperson organizations and schools. Routinely communicate with hunters.
* Respond to and appropriately handle injured and nuisance wildlife calls, which may require euthanasia of wildlife. Use chemical and mechanical immobilization equipment and techniques when necessary and appropriate. Use firearms to euthanize wildlife.
* Identify specific wildlife-related research needs for the assigned region. Develop project proposals, including methods and budgets, coordinate with researchers, write proposals to acquire funds, provide input and guidance to project personnel, collect data, write, review, and edit annual and final project reports.
* Assist in coordinating and conducting habitat management by evaluating wildlife habitat conditions, collecting data, and recommending improvements or projects to enhance wildlife habitat.
* Participate in WGFD-assigned species working groups and committee assignments, and assist with the development of regional planning efforts designed to meet the future needs of wildlife and the public. This includes participation in the regional implementation of the Wyoming Elk Feedgrounds Management Plan.
* Document and report daily activities, write annual and project reports, ensures budget and grant expenditures are within allocated amounts and in accordance with fiscal procedures. Maintains assigned vehicles, ATVs, snowmobiles, and other technical equipment. Carry out other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
PREFERENCES/AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:
Preference may be given to applicants with a Master's degree in wildlife management, wildlife habitat, ecology, or a related field, plus two years of professional work experience in wildlife management, wildlife habitat, ecology, or a related field.

Position Summary:
Audubon Florida seeks a Wading Bird Biologist to support wading bird nesting surveys in Southwest Florida. The Wading Bird Biologist will work remotely in the Tampa Bay region, focused in Pinellas, Hillsborough, Manatee, and Sarasota counties, but may also include work in Pasco, Polk, Charlotte, and Lee counties. The majority of the work will be at dredge spoil and natural mangrove islands in coastal Southwest Florida, with some additional work at inland colonies.
This is a full-time seasonal position working 40 hours a week between March 1st through June 2026 and may include some weekend days. The Wading Bird Biologist will be responsible for performing boat-based surveys of wading bird colonies as part of a census of Reddish Egret nesting in southwest Florida.
This position is classified as on-site based at Audubon Florida - Coastal Islands Sanctuaries in Tampa.

Essential Functions:
Breeding wading bird and seabird surveys focusing on state-threatened Reddish Egrets, but also including Little Blue Herons, Tricolored Herons, Roseate Spoonbills, Wood Storks, Brown Pelicans and other species.
Conducting direct count and flightline surveys to determine nesting abundance of colonial wading birds and seabirds.
Record detailed field data and enter data into databases as required.
Collaborate with team members and external partners to ensure surveys are completed at all sites.
Assist with other waterbird conservation and survey efforts as needed.
Responsible for routine cleaning and maintenance of program vehicles, trailers, and boats as needed.

Toxicology/Safety Pharmacology: could include but not limited to the study of adverse effects of substances on living organisms and investigates the potential undesirable pharmacodynamic effects of new chemical entities (NCEs) or biologics on physiological systems.
Virology: Study of viruses; could include but not limited to submicroscopic, parasitic particles of genetic material contained in a protein coat and virus-like agents.
Responsibilities
Performs complex assignments by compiling and evaluating test data and planning test experiments, including determination of test procedures, limits, and instrumentation.
Analyzes test data and results to determine acceptability or application of test item/system or validity of test data.
Analyzes and interprets data collected. Prepares technical reports and makes presentations to clients, both formal and informal.
Troubleshoots complex testing processes when expected results are not obtained.
Assists lower-level staff in resolving analysis problems.
Conducts and/or leads small technical projects or phases of technical projects.
May provide direction to and coordinate the efforts of technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects within time and budget constraints.
Assists with proposal efforts. May prepare technical sections of proposals.
Build relationships with internal and external clients and presents research results.

Key Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field with 5 years of experience, or a master's degree in a related field with 2 years of experience, or a PhD; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
Experience with mammalian cell culture is required. Experience with primary human cells and/or induced pluripotent cells is desired.
Experience with complex in-vitro models (i.e. microphysiological systems, organoids, organ on a chip) is desired.
Experience in at least one of the following areas is desired: safety pharmacology, environmental toxicology, hepatic and/or renal in vitro models.

Position Function
The Nwosu lab has an open position for a Postdoctoral Associate. We are seeking to hire a versatile Postdoctoral Associate with experience in a number of areas of cancer research, cancer metabolism, immunometabolism, genomics and therapeutics. The candidate should be highly enthusiastic about conducting cancer research and should ideally be committed to pursuing a career in the cancer field as demonstrated by track record of prior publications and related accomplishments from doctoral studies. The project will require the use of cell lines and mouse models to mechanistically determine how tumor-intrinsic and systemic metabolism impacts cancer therapy. The individual will also be expected to be excited and motivated to compete for fellowships, should have some experience in mentoring students, and should be able to interact with collaborators. Besides research, the applicants will be encouraged to participate in career development activities within and outside the university. Salaries are set at the NIH rate.
Anticipated Division of Time
Research: 95% - the successful postdoc will apply various methods including but not limited to cell culture, gene interference, mass spectrometry, biochemical assays, testing with pharmacological compounds and mouse models. Minimum Qualifications Three years of experience in fisheries, wildlife, or marine resources management; fish or wildlife propagation; a living marine resources program; or a fish, wildlife, or marine research program.
Substitution: one year of college coursework including at least 12 semester credit hours in fisheries, marine resources, wildlife management, or a related field, may substitute for one year of the experience described.
Additional Comments This is a hourly appointment currently funded through 3/31/2026, with a likelihood of continuing beyond that date. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date.

Position Overview and Responsibilities:
Three technicians will be hired from mid-April to mid-August 2026 to assist with estimating abundance and density of black bears in northcentral Florida. No bears will be captured or handled. Duties include installing barbed-wire hair corrals and collecting bear hair samples following a strict sampling protocol, collecting bait and other supplies, entering and correcting data, and other duties as assigned. Technicians will build corrals in a 2-person team but check them alone. A typical work week is 10 hours/day over 4 days with 3 days off, but technicians may be required to work extra days as needed to stay on schedule. The job will be strenuous, requiring technicians to hike off-trail in harsh weather conditions (e.g., high temperatures and humidity) in areas with biting insects and venomous snakes. Field housing will be provided but food expenses will not be covered. Technicians will be driving agency vehicles during work hours but will need their own transportation for personal time.

Monitoring nest sites weekly, at minimum, for evidence of disturbance or predation
Protecting sites from disturbance through predation management and game camera monitoring in cooperation with site managers and partner agencies.
Educating beachgoers about coastal bird species while encouraging compliance with posted areas, and engaging in outreach to user groups.
Collaborate with Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) biologist to ensure all survey, monitoring, and posting is completed at sites.

Survey sites weekly, conduct banded bird resighting, and enter data into the Florida Shorebird Database and other database as required.

Duties Description This position involves living and working on the NYSDEC Research Vessel Seth Green for extended periods of time (up to 10 days) including some weekends and overtime. They will be assisting in five approximately week-long surveys of fish communities using various gears including trawl and gill nets. The technician is responsible for learning standard operating procedures; retrieving and setting fishing or other sampling gear; processing catches including identifying, weighing and measuring fish; recording data quickly and accurately; and collecting and labeling biological samples. Other duties include assisting captain with general maintenance of research vessel, repairing fishing gear or other equipment; pressing fish scales, extracting and reading coded wire tags, extracting otoliths, and entering data. Other field and lab work may also be required as needed. Job includes travel per diem and may include overtime Must be able negotiate difficult terrain including ladders and work in adverse weather conditions including rough seas. Housing will not be provided when not on the boat.
Minimum Qualifications 30 semester credit hours, including 12 semester credit hours in fisheries; marine resources or wildlife management; mariculture; marine biology; aquaculture; aquatic, marine or terrestrial ecology; zoology; marine technology; botany; limnology; hydrology; or oceanography. Previous experience with fish identification, working on boats with fisheries sampling gear, equipment maintenance, and data entry will be preferred.
Additional Comments This is a seasonal, hourly appointment with an anticipated end date of 11/30/2026. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date.

What You Will Do

* Counting and recording insects collected in traps in grower fields.
* Entering and summarizing data; preparing data tables, charts, and information for presentations and reports using Microsoft Office.
* Assisting with crop harvests, measuring, and recording yields.
* Assisting in logistical setup for educational meetings and events.
* Transporting samples to storage sites or research facilities for further analysis.
What We Need
We are looking for someone with an excellent work ethic, who appreciates agriculture, and can work in commercial fields that have been sprayed with pesticides. We need a talented individual with excellent communication skills who can build and maintain effective relationships with multiple stakeholders. Additionally, we need someone who has the following:
* High School diploma and 6+ months of experience in agriculture, field biology, ecology, or a similar setting, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Experience utilizing current computer technology, i.e., Windows - Excel/Word/PowerPoint.
* Proven experience in communicating effectively, both written and oral.
* Possess excellent organizational experience.
* Knowledge of prioritizing multiple activities and tasks while meeting established time frames.
* Excellent customer service; must work effectively with clientele.
* Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather.
* Visual concentration and attention to detail are needed to detect pests and pest damage.
* Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
* Must be able to meet the travel requirements of the position, and have reliable transportation as well as have and maintain a valid and unrestricted New York State driver's license.
* Must exercise sound and ethical judgment when acting on behalf of the University.

Other responsibilities include organizing requests for samples from outside investigators, specializing in fish age determination, training new staff according to established standard operating procedures, and participating in data entry/quality assurance for the Unit's array of databases. This position will also assist with annual report preparation and review and attend public functions as needed. Occasional operation of smaller vessels to accomplish field work will be on an as needed basis. Other field and lab work will be assigned as needed. Experience with power and hand tools is beneficial for this position. Will supervise lower level staff.
Minimum Qualifications Three years of experience in fisheries, wildlife, or marine resources management; fish or wildlife propagation; a living marine resources program; or a fish, wildlife, or marine research program. Substitution: one year of college coursework including at least 12 semester credit hours in fisheries, marine resources, wildlife management, or a related field, may substitute for one year of the experience described.
Additional Comments This is a hourly appointment currently funded through 3/31/2027, with a likelihood of continuing beyond that date. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date.
Must have a valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position.
Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain.

Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
Must have certification to operate motorized boats or personal watercrafts at time of appointment.
