Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The person in this position plans, directs, and coordinates the work of survey staff, engaged in surveying earth's surface and preparing reports and legal descriptions of land by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. A supervisory classification would be warranted for staff with experience and capability to oversee office and field operations as required to oversee and coordinate staff toward the production of survey deliverables, such as mapping and mapping review tasks, field observations, and coordination with other surveyors of record.
* Act as City Surveyor. Work would include:
* Subdivision Map Checking
* Lot Line Adjustment
* Mergers
* Easement checking
* Preparation of easement legal descriptions and plats
* Ability to respond to questions and recommend appropriate administration of the Surveyors Map Act
* Coordinate field crews (sub-contracted).

About this Role
