The People & Culture Office Coordinator will assist the Houston office in HR, administrative, and support duties. YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERTISE

SUMMARY

POSITION SUMMARY
The Community Resilience Manager (CRM) will support the implementation and development of various and diverse projects under the Community Health Programs which aims at achieving environmental justice for our most vulnerable communities. This position will lead the effort to intentionally and meaningfully connect with the community while also providing solutions to everyday environmental health issues. The goal of this position is to work towards achieving environmental justice through immediate and tangible projects in partnership with residents and the broader community.
This position will report to the Green Infrastructure Director (GID). This position will support GWDs mission in diverse ways, including community outreach and engagement. This position will be key in developing a Resident Advisory group that will empower community leaders and residents to take action on climate change and policy and shape GWDs programs. In addition, this role will support hands-on projects including maintenance of trees, rain barrels, rain gardens, and volunteer events (hands-on training will be provided as needed). This role will also supervise the young adult Ground Corp program and the part-time Community Resilience Program Assistant. Groundwork Denver is also exploring social enterprise; this position will be critical in the development and implementation of social enterprises in our programming.
While this position is expected to evolve over time, it is estimated that the CRM will initially spend 25% of their time and efforts coordinating and implementing service provisions, 25% supervising the Community Resilience Assistant and Ground Corps, 25% completing program development, and 25% community engagement. This role will require availability on some evenings and weekends for civic education and project implementation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinating and implementing service provisions (25%) (Green Infrastructure within Community Health Programs):
Air: Planting and maintenance of trees and rain gardens at residential, community and business sites. Supporting coordination of volunteers and youth in planting events.
Water: Installation and maintenance of rain barrels for residential homes. Supporting community focused water stewardship events/engagements as needed.
Civic Education: Supporting community and youth in climate justice learning events/engagements.

The Community Resilience Assistant (CRA) is a part-time position that will support the development and implementation of programming. The CRA will directly report to the Community Resilience Manager, with the Green Infrastructure Director also providing temporary supervisory support (first ~90 days of CRMs employment).
Program development (25%) and implementation of GWDs Social Enterprise program offerings:
Educate community members, municipalities, and businesses on Groundwork Denvers Water, Air, and Energy service offerings.

Community Engagement (25%):
A key responsibility for this role will be to develop and manage 1 to 2 Community council(s)/Resident Advisory Group(s), consisting of around 10 Denver Metro area community members per group. The goal of these groups is to innovate and build upon civic and community engagement, to empower community leaders and residents to take action on climate change and policy. An additional goal will be for these groups to inform and/or help develop green infrastructure projects.
Build and sustain relationships with community leaders and residents throughout our target areas/neighborhoods (NEST areas in Denver, along with the Metro area, specifically Montbello and Adams County).
Support various team leads on community recruitment for their programs
Support community volunteer programming
Responsibilities as a member of the Groundwork Denver team:
Actively participate in Groundwork Denvers journey towards Environmental Justice, including discussions, readings, strategic planning, self-reflection, action and more

Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in safety or in aviation preferred
If work location is in the United States, must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986. If work location is in Canada, must have authorization to work in Canada as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) of 2001
Experience: Must have at least 1 year of experience performing the same or similar tasks as an operator to be considered for a training role
Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as demonstrated in training presentations, written manuals and accident investigations
Display math aptitude and analytical
Skills:
Be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma, GED or work experience equivalent
Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Be able to obtain a valid passport
Be able to pass a drug screen and obtain airport security clearance, which includes a 10-year extensive employment, criminal record and residence background check

Physical Requirements:

Responsibilities
A typical day may include being part of a multi-discipline engineering team for major projects such as cooling water systems (pumps, motors, control systems, piping, heat exchangers) for existing or new power plants. Other days you may be leading simple design projects such as valve replacements or writing engineering reports (such as corrosion studies or pros and cons of different equipment). You will also:
Deliver High-Quality Engineering Documents: Prepare accurate and error-free drawings, sketches, calculations, and analyses that meet industry codes, standards, and regulations, ensuring client needs are met with precision
Adhere to Standards: Develop engineering documents in alignment with client, ENERCON, and regulatory requirements while following established procedures, processes, and project directives
Stay Ahead of the Curve: Keep your knowledge sharp and current with industry codes, standards, safety culture principles, and advanced design techniques tailored to the nuclear sector
Commit to Excellence: Produce engineering deliverables that meet stringent quality assurance standards, aligning with project scopes and exceeding client expectations
Build Lasting Client Relationships: Establish trust and rapport with clients through clear communication, professional interactions, and the delivery of exceptional engineering solutions
Collaborate Across Disciplines: Work closely with other teams to ensure designs are comprehensive, integrated, and consider the needs of all disciplines involved #LI-AS1
Get Hands-On in the Field: Travel to plant sites to connect with client personnel, conduct on-site walkdowns, and evaluate plant structures, systems, and components firsthand to inform project work
Qualifications
This position covers a range of internal levels. Minimum qualifications for our mid-level position are shown below:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
Minimum 3 years of experience with design of mechanical systems
Experience in one of the following industries highly preferred: engineering/design services, power generation, nuclear power, heavy industrial including chemical or pulp & paper, and government (DOE) projects
Good writing, presentation and communication skills
Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams
Proficient in Word and Excel
