Reports to: Warehouse Operations Manager
Relay Express, a leading logistics company, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Warehouse Associate to join our dynamic team. As a Warehouse Associate, you will be an integral part of our warehouse operations, responsible for a wide range of tasks to ensure the smooth flow of goods and materials through our facility. Responsibilities:
Freight Handling: Efficiently and safely unload and load freight from inbound and outbound trucks using forklifts and other equipment as needed.
Cross-Docking: Perform cross-docking operations to expedite the transfer of goods between incoming and outgoing trucks while maximizing efficiency for our customers ensuring the integrity of the freight.
Quality Control: Conduct thorough inspections of incoming and outgoing freight to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with quality standards.
Distribution: Distribute freight to designated customers, including medical customers and critical parts clients, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to customer requirements.
Reworks: Handle reworks and repackaging tasks as necessary to correct errors or damage, ensuring that all products meet quality standards before being released to customers.
Critical Parts Management: Pull and process parts for our critical parts division, including but not limited to weekly cycle counts and meeting KPI's for inbounding and out bounding parts.
Inventory Management: Conduct regular inventory counts and maintain accurate records of stock levels, promptly reporting any discrepancies or issues to management.
Process Improvements: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains within the warehouse operation and collaborate with team members and management to implement solutions.
Forklift Operation: Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment in accordance with company policies and procedures, maintaining a clean and organized work environment at all times.
Driving: Drive company vehicles as needed to transport goods between facilities or to deliver items to customers, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment preferred.
- Valid forklift certification and experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment preferred.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects as well as the ability to climb ladders.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

The Opportunity
This is a key customer-facing role, with the Operations Coordinator being responsible for ensuring Import / Export shipments are managed and completed effectively, efficiently and compliantly from start to finish, delivering Best in Class service to our customers at all times.

Working hours: Monday to Friday: 0900hrs to 1800hrs
Key Role Accountabilities:
Operations:
Work within the Export & Import Operations team, to complete shipments from start to finish always ensuring excellent customer service.
Update comments and actions within the Company system to allow understanding of workflow and handling of shipment specifics without the requirement to locate individual file.
Delete any unnecessary emails, to ensure efficiency and Best in Class service.
Investigate and implement the most cost-effective dispatch of each shipment in accordance with the customers' instructions.
Liaise and negotiate with the suppliers to ensure their costs are being provided at the time of booking.
Manage all necessary documentation and online forms for the efficient, cost-effective and lawful execution of all import activities.
Provide 'collection / delivery notes' and / or notification 'in writing' of all relevant collection / delivery instructions.
Ensure Customs Entries are being completed as per the written instructions from the customer or as per the agreed customer SOP and are completed to a high standard.
Liaise with Warehouse and Transport Team for reliable distribution for imports / exports.
Arrange direct drives as per customer requests.
Arrange On Board Couriers when necessary.
Ensure that any customer service failures, billing issues, other issues and / or errors are reported without delay to the Station Manager and Head of Operations US
Customer Specific Accountabilities:
Manage up to 800 shipments, ensuring a proactive, efficient and compliant customer experience, including responding to and resolving queries and providing timely shipment updates.
Complete AES filings accurately and timely.
Coordinate pick-ups and deliveries with relevant transport providers.
Plan and execute routing of shipments.
Create AWB from A-Z, managing the full AWB lifecycle.
Manage customer specific inboxes and other correspondence, managing a high volume of shipment requests and responding to customer emails and calls in a timely manner and to agreed B&H standards.
Handle AOG (Aircraft on Ground), routine, and critical shipments with priority and care.
Provide Inventory / Warehouse support as required, including but not limited to:
Monitor the receipt, booking in and dispatch of all Cargo/Goods and record data in accordance with B&H procedures.
Ensuring freight is screened in accordance with TSA compliance, is handled correctly and is located and identified as "Known Cargo".
Perform labelling, palletizing, and freight preparation tasks as needed.
Profitability and Accounting
Review and identify areas to maximise profitability by proactive file management.
Ensure all billing is carried out within Company timeframes, monitoring and ensuring correct input of purchase costs into the system enabling accurate billing and profit reporting.
Your Experience:
This role is underpinned by excellent customer service skills. You will have excellent attention to detail and possess a sound knowledge of Import / Export processes.
Solid background in US Customs law and procedures.
Experience of working with Cargowise and Dangerous Goods Compliant would be an advantage
Sound knowledge of Microsoft suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
The ability to work pro-actively using own initiative.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to build strong relationships.
Problem solving skills, with the ability to consider several possible options and decide on most appropriate method.

JOB SCOPE:
Our 8-week, paid Summer Internship Program offers college students the opportunity to fully immerse in the day-to-day operations of a leading national trailer leasing and rental company. Students participating in the program will build upon their current skillset and work in a collaborative environment. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inspect trailers to ensure they are safe, comply with Federal Highway Guidelines and other industry regulations.

Work alongside operations staff to coordinate all work performed on trailers with vendors as well as ensuring the work performed follows Premiers' policies and procedures.

Provide support to customers visiting the branch, via phone and email.
Learn basic knowledge of trailer specifications and applications to assist customers.
Assist Branch and Corporate teams with various projects.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Current enrollment in a four-year degree or graduate program (Marketing, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Operations and Supply Management, or Business majors preferred).
Successful completion of college junior study semesters.
GPA of 3.0 or greater.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; prior internship experience is a plus.
Effective time management and ability to work as part of a team are essential.
Be able to work up to 40 hours per week throughout the summer internship with minimum absences.

Job Description
The Operations Intern will assist in ensuring the timely and accurate coordination of freight loads from pickup to delivery. This internship involves supporting the logistics process from start to finish, including communication with drivers, dispatchers, customers, and internal teams. This internship involves supporting the logistics process from start to finish, including communication with drivers, dispatchers, customers, and internal teams. The intern will have the opportunity to develop multitasking skills and provide support in delivering excellent customer service, while learning to maintain organized records and oversee load tracking under supervision. This role offers hands-on experience in a third-party logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Load Management: Route, prepare, and ensure shipments are picked up and delivered on time.
* Communication: Maintain open and clear communication with drivers, dispatchers, and warehouse supervisors to ensure all parties are informed of load statuses.
* Carrier Booking: Book carriers for current and future loads, verifying necessary details such as driver's equipment, ETA, and dispatch information.
* Documentation: Upload and manage Bills of Lading (BOL) and Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation into systems like McLeod and Mercury Gate.
* Load Tracking: Track all loads in transit, providing updates to customers on load status, and ensuring any issues are communicated promptly.
* Problem Solving: Respond to issues such as delayed shipments, missing documentation, or load discrepancies by working with internal teams and external carriers.
* Quote Management: Assist account managers with quoting loads, ensuring competitive pricing and availability.
* Compliance: Verify driver credentials (e.g., MC#) to ensure compliance with safety standards and mitigate risks.
* Assist in quoting expedited freight or special loads.
Qualifications
* Customer Service: Ability to maintain strong relationships with both customers and carriers, providing excellent service throughout the process.
* Communication: Superb verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with drivers, customers, and colleagues.
* Multitasking & Organization: Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, while staying organized and efficient.
* Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve issues related to logistics operations such as delays, missed shipments, and documentation problems.

* McLeod, Mercury Gate, Microsoft Office Suite, and load boards such as DAT, Sylectus, and Truckstop.
* Equipment
* Computer, phone, high-speed internet, and other standard office tools.
Education & Qualifications
* Earning bachelor's degree in supply chain management or related field
Working Conditions
* Office-based position in a well-lit, climate-controlled environment.
* Hours are 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday in office.
