The Williamson Free School of Mechanical Trades in Media, Pennsylvania, is a unique school that offers tuition-free career training to low-income men. The Williamson Free School also provides support with everything from spirituality to basic needs. Training programs prepare students to work in such fields as: * Carpentry * Masonry * Horticulture and landscape management * Machine tool technology Since Williamson is a Christian school, students also engage in religious study, both in and out of class. Services are comprehensive. The school provides clothing to students who require it, as well as job-placement assistance and spiritual counseling. Student activities include a student government organization, student music groups and a student newspaper. Applicants must submit admissions applications and transcripts by February for a fall start date. Additional application materials include three letters of reference, a passing score on the ASVAB exam and a personal interview. Applicants must have a high school diploma and must qualify as low-income.
