Seasonal Driver Helper
As a driver helper you'll ride along with a package delivery driver in our iconic brown trucks and help deliver packages to businesses and homes in your community. During your shift, you'll be in and out of the truck, greeting customers and ensuring packages make it to their destinations.
This seasonal job requires flexibility as work will be assigned in the morning based on operational needs and your availability.
When you are assigned work, you will be provided with a meet point. This is where the driver will pick you up, often in your neighborhood. Helpers do not drive the brown truck.

This position will receive daily tasking and prioritization from their site lead. The selected candidate will be responsible for operations and maintenance support of the MQ-4C Triton network and communications systems at a Forward Operating Base (FOB).
**Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:**
+ Provide real time support for flight operations and maintenance addressing any issues related to communications and networking to include fault isolation, remediation, and resolution.
+ Perform field integration, troubleshooting, and repair of communications and data link systems in military flight test environment, including operations on a flightline, in a hangar, and in command-and-control centers.
+ Adhere to checklists and procedures to ensure repeated success and providing redlines to procedures when necessary
+ Communicate complex technical issues to local support, the Degrader Action Cell (DAC), Main Operation Bases (MOBs), and Responsible Engineers (REs).
+ Support and lead air crew engagement for proper techniques in solving complex analysis of technical problems that arise during operations.
+ Assist with trend analysis as needed for Responsible Engineers (REs).
+ Perform/support review and analysis of supplier design data and definition of functional test requirements including acceptance, qualification, and system integration.
+ Responsibility for the testing, maintenance, and integration of Comms and Networks equipment to include radio terminals, software loads, switches, routers, and firewalls required to support ground and flight test operations.
+ Work with system admins, maintainers, and onsite personnel to troubleshoot and repair any internal operational issues.
**The selected candidate will be put on a temporary Domestic Assignment and will report to our San Diego, CA site daily prior to international deployment while clearance(s), Visa(s), and other documents are processing. The employee will go through training in San Diego during this period. The expected timeline before deployment is 3-4 months but this will vary.**
Initially, this position will work a 9/80 shift **. As the program matures, the shifts may become 12-hour shifts that could include nights, weekends, and/or holidays.**
The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site in Australia. There is no remote work available for this role. This position requires the ability to travel up to 10% of the time once in final location.

What you'll be doing at AMC
Lead and facilitate single day and multiday programs for youth and families, including backpacking, hiking, paddling, XC, skilling and snowshoeing trips.
Implement thematic, place-based environmental education, leadership, and community-building lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse participant populations.
Create and foster an inclusive group culture and learning environment among participants and co-workers.
Prioritize safety and manage risk of participants in backcountry settings, assessing both environmental and human risk and making decisions that benefit both the group and individual experience.
Provide wilderness medical care.
Model responsible behavior in the outdoors and Leave No Trace ethics.
Work independently or collaboratively on projects including, but not limited to, curriculum development, the creation of teaching tools, and other logistical tasks.

Position Description:
The Forestry Intern will work with the AMC Forest Manager and MWI (Maine Woods Initiative) team that oversee daily operations and long-term planning of the 114,00-acre MWI tract in Piscataquis County Maine. The Forestry Intern will be responsible for activities including field inventory sampling, harvest and precommercial layout, boundary line layout and maintenance, and assisting the MWI management team with tasks associated to operation of MWI. The Forestry Intern will need to be able to work well independently and in a group setting on a variety of projects in varying seasonal conditions.
This is a full-time seasonal position based at the MWI near Greenville, Maine, that includes on-site housing (rustic accommodations at an AMC lodge location) and staff meals for a small paycheck deduction. The summer forestry intern will work closely with MWI staff to coordinate logistics, and will be supervised by the AMC Forest Manager, with regular in-person meetings and direction from MWI staff. Past summer interns have used their work with AMC to develop projects associated with course requirements for graduation of their program.
What You'll be Doing at AMC
Assist with a variety of forest management tasks in the field including assisting with field inventory, boundary line layout and maintenance, and harvest layout
Join MWI staff on harvest and road construction site visits
Assess road infrastructure issues such as failed culverts and stream crossings - entering assessment data into GIS software (Field Maps)
Help oversee seasonal work crews on planting, precommercial thinning, and crop tree release projects
Work with other staff including educational staff, and staff and partners on tours or special events
Participate in public talks regarding AMC forest management and stream restoration
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
What AMC is Looking for
Enrolled in or completed Bachelor's Degree in forestry or a science related field is preferred
Experience with forestry work, including but not limited to completing inventory sampling, boundary line maintenance, harvest layout, and timber marking
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Familiarity with ESRI products and the use of ArcGIS Pro and/or Field Maps
Experience and comfort in working in remote field settings, experience with outdoor/backcountry navigation. Conditions in the Maine woods can vary and exposure to the elements as well as insect pests are expected.

Must have a valid drivers license and ability to operate a vehicle
