Willis-Knighton company history timeline
Since 1924, Willis-Knighton has served the needs of this community with an eye toward the future.
In 1950, a year after it transitioned to a not-for-profit healthcare organization, it was named in honor of Doctors Willis and Knighton.
The Talbot Museum began in 2005 as a collection of artifacts and documents kept by former Willis-Knighton employees and physicians.
The Oaks of Louisiana is a 312-acre master-planned community created in 2007 when Live Oak, a multifaith retirement community, became part of Willis-Knighton Health System, the region’s largest healthcare provider.
In 2014 The Talbot Museum relocated from its cramped and modest quarters on Greenwood Road to the Willis-Knighton Innovation Center, the fully-renovated campus of the former Bossier Medical Center.
On December 1, 2016, the practice joined nearly 500 other physicians as members of the Willis-Knighton Physicians Network.
