Clinical Therapy Medical Physicist, Willis Knighton Cancer Center The Department of Radiation Oncology at Willis Knighton Cancer Center in Shreveport, Louisiana is recruiting to fill an immediate opening for a full-time, on-site Clinical Therapy Medical Physicist. This new hire will complete our team of 5 clinical medical physicists supporting a diverse array of clinical treatments including proton therapy using the United States' first clinically utilized installation of IBA's ProteusONE proton therapy system, linac-based stereotactic radiosurgery on an Elekta platform, a busy brachytherapy practice, and a recently-opened Nuclear Oncology (theranostics) Department. Additionally, the selected candidate will serve as faculty within our CAMPEP-accredited medical physics residency program, which is part of the first CAMPEP-accredited affiliate-model consortium. Although this position is primarily clinical, all Willis Knighton physics staff have ample opportunity and departmental support to pursue both clinical research and professional development as evidenced by numerous and notable publications by members our group.
Minimum Requirements:
* M.S. or Ph.D. in Medical Physics or closely related discipline
* Board certified or board eligible in Therapeutic Medical Physics by the American Board of Radiology
Preferred Qualifications:
* 2-5 years' experience post physics residency training
* Experience with Elekta linear accelerators, IBA proton, or Accuray Radixact units
* Familiarity with IMRT, VMAT, IGRT, SRS/SBRT, and HDR treatment modalities

About the Department of Radiation Oncology at Willis Knighton Cancer Center: Part of the Willis Knighton Health System located within the Shreveport-Bossier area of Northwest Louisiana, our mission is to continuously improve the health and well-being of the people we serve. While part of a large system comprised of 5-hospitals (1256-beds), multiple specialty and imaging centers, and even a senior living community, among other elements; all radiation therapy is performed in the Department of Radiation Oncology at a single location, the Willis Knighton Cancer Center, located off Interstate 20 just west of the I-20/I-49 interchange. Our department is home to 5 full-time faculty physicists, 5 physicians, 3 dosimetrists, and 2 medical physics residents. Our facility operates an IBA ProteusONE proton therapy unit, as well as two Elekta Versa HD linear accelerators (one routinely performing Brainlab, ExacTrac-guided, stereotactic radiosurgery), a Radixact unit, an Elekta Flexitron HDR afterloader, one Philips big-bore RTâ€'CT simulator, a Samsung/NeuroLogica BodyTom (portable, full-body, 32-slice CT scanner), and one Philips Ingenia MR-RT simulator. We use MOSAIQ as our oncology information system, RayStation for most external beam treatment planning, Brainlab Elements for SRS, and Oncentra for all HDR brachytherapy. Our CT scanner and all LINACs are equipped with C-RAD solutions for patient positioning, motion monitoring, and respiratory gating. Our Nuclear Oncology Department is home to a new state-of-the-art GE StarGuide SPECT/CT and Siemen's Biograph Vision 450 PET/CT with patient specific dosimetry performed using MIM SurePlan MRT software. Radiotherapy patient volume is approximately 75 patients per day across all portions of a broad demographic spectrum that comprises the population of the ArkLaTex region.

Qualifications:
Minimum Education and Experience:

Under the direction of the Associate Medical Director (AMD), the Site Lead serves in a local strategic leadership role. Ensure specimens received by the laboratory are acceptable for testing by applying the appropriate criteria and change or prepare reagents, controls as necessary and records such in log.
Label, accession and distribute specimens so that integrity of patient identification is maintained throughout processing and inoculate specimens from all areas of the body on appropriate media.
Initiate orders for blood and/or blood components from the appropriate blood supplier.
Follow hospital/laboratory safety and infection control policies and report variances to section supervisors as they occur.
Determine appropriateness of manual methods, micro-methods, back-up procedures and initiate such procedures.
Use computer system to compare patient results to previous results during the same encounter and investigate discrepancies and report test results within established departmental turn-around times after verifying documentation is complete and accurate.
Prepare and interpret gram stains and other wet and dry preparations for bacteriology and parasitology.
Perform all routine procedures including, but not limited to, ABORH typing and retesting, antibody detection and identification, compatibility testing and serology procedures.
Prepare blood components while maintaining aseptic technique and proper storage.
Evaluate serological reactivity to assist with antibody identification and crossmatch incompatibilities.
Follow universal precautions at all times when dealing with blood or body fluids and disinfect counter tops at the end of the shift with appropriate cleaner.
Operate, calibrate, conduct performance checks, and maintain any clinical laboratory instrument or equipment after orientation, troubleshoot basic instrument malfunctions, and document in the appropriate action log.
Determine when an instrument's service representative should be contacted for assistance.

Receive tissue specimens from surgery, autopsy and the nursing floors, perform proper processing and preservation of tissue specimens, comply with proper specimen storage and preservation of all other non-tissue specimens for non-core laboratory.

**Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport and LSU Health Sciences Center - Shreveport are seeking a Division Chief of Hematology Oncology**
The successful candidate for Division Chief of Hematology Oncology will have both clinical and research focuses to lead the medical oncology division. Leadership responsibilities will include coordinating and integrating the core mission areas with the Feist-Weiller Cancer Center and the Cancer Service Line, along with Cancer Center Director, across the breadth of the Northwest Louisiana region. Must have strong administrative, clinical, and teaching skills and a commitment to the broad mission of the Hematology/Oncology Division fostering outstanding clinical operations, program development, and coordination across practice locations. The physician appointed to the faculty of the LSU Health Shreveport Medical Center at the level matching their background and experience. The candidate must obtain a Louisiana medical license, privileges at local hospitals, and be credentialed with insurance entities.
Specific duties include but are not limited to:
1. Be accountable for the physician and clinical operations, program development specific to medical oncology and oversee the medical oncology division.
2. Work in clinics in medical oncology with disease specific subspecialty emphasis four days/week. Will be expected to meet productivity and quality metrics adjusted for administrative duties.
3. Be committed to providing multi-disciplinary approach to provision of patient care.
4. Participation in call as required for patient care
5. Teaching fellow, residents, medical students as part of the hematology/oncology faculty.
6. Attending tumor boards as indicated as well as attend tumor boards for other specialties at MCI.
7. Performing outreach to community physicians to develop relationships that will generate referrals. Will work with business development liaison to create a referral strategy.
Minimum Training and Experience Requirements: Must be board certified in medical oncology/hematology and have been practicing as a medical oncologist or hematologist for a minimum of 5-7 years. Previous administrative experience is required. Research experience with national funding preferred. Specific information regarding the ability to motivate and lead a division towards improved research productivity by mentorship and teamwork will be requested.

* Act as clinical instructor for at least one PTA student per year (after first year of experience).
* Demonstrate ethical practice according to standards established by the American Physical Therapy Association and LCMC Health.
