Wilson Language Training company history timeline

1993

Ed led the transition from a private learning center model to a 200+ employee company that provides schools and districts across America with the same level of success achieved at the private center, establishing Wilson Language Training Corporation in 1993.

1996

1996 WRS Third Edition was published, adding two levels of vocabulary: one for older students and one for younger students.

2002

In 2002, Wilson expanded its programs and professional learning to the general education classroom teachers.

2002 Fundations® First Edition is published.

2003

2003 Wilson Academy® is launched.

2011

2011 Wilson adopts the principles of implementation science at the core of its planning with and support of districts, called COMPASS – Comprehensive Plans for Achieving Success and Sustainability.

2012

2012 Fundations Second Edition was published incorporating teacher feedback and best practices to enhance instruction and teacher and student materials.

2016

2016 Wilson® Professional Credentials (Wilson® Dyslexia Practitioner, Wilson® Dyslexia Therapist, and Wilson® Credentialed Trainer) are introduced to recognize the importance of ongoing development in the field of reading instruction and high standards of practice within the Wilson community.

2018

2018 WRS Fourth Edition is published.

2021

2021 The Fundations Ready to Rise™ program is published.

2021 WRS Advanced Set and WRS Advanced Set Plus for Steps 7-12 are published, providing teachers with the resources to implement the Upper Steps of the program incorporating all the research-based best practices that have been part of our teacher professional learning courses for many years.
